I think that this is going to end up going the same way as the whole B&Q debacle from many months ago. I don't think Debenhams will back down, the only thing you could try is threatening them with the Small Claims Court, but they will probably stand their ground. Honestly, why can't they just admit that they made a mistake? How refreshing it would be if they could be honest about it and put their hands up to the pricing error.0

suzy_g wrote:i have looked at the debenham's customer service page, in clause 2.5 they say , more or less. the contract does not take place till the goods have been shipped and the invoice has been sent, and they can debit your account, well i have had my invoice several days before they debited my account, and as i cant physically see when they ship it, i think they have a contract. i havent yet heard from them yet by letter or email. but when i do i will argue this case
I have also got my invoices.I have been on the trading standards websites, office of fair trading ,cab and watchdog but can't find anything to help0 -
Just checked my account and they put the money back on the 2nd. You would have though that in the name of good customer relations they would have honoured the orders or even just the ones placed on sunday before they found their error. I can't believe honouring those orders would have brought the Debenhams empire crashing down. They could have written it off as advertising expenses as there would have been so much goodwill and positive comments being spread about Debenhams. I can see the local newspaper headlines now " The little guy strikes it lucky at Debenhams".
Instead they now have x amount of people totally disgruntled with them, so of those people are now focused on negative thoughts and actions about the company, for the sake of a few wardrobes. But hey ho no one was hurt, i didn't lose any money, life goes on i won't bother writing to them because they do not appear to have customer satisfaction high on their list of priorities.
Once again Lisa thanks for the spot, you could have placed an order and said nothing, gambling that only one dodgy order taken may get you the wardrobe...But you didn't, you spread the word which is what this site is all about so good on ya :T0 -
I bought some ELC 75% off stuff in Debenhams and it was another 10% off at the till! Also slippers/bras were bogof and 75% off!!0

Right...I dunno what is happening now..
I ordered the wardrobe on the tuesday (so was one of the later people - before the item disappeared from the website) and the money was debited. Roughyl a week later I got an email to say that they coldnt get the stock from the supplier, followed by a letter a few days later saying the same thing.....
Then today I get a letter saying that the goods have been specially ordered and will be with me by 15 Feb!! The letter has "Invoice" splashed across it!!
Is anyone else in this situation - and have they received the goods?????!?!?
I dont wanna get my hopes up if i am going to get a letter tomorrow saying that the order is cancelled again!!!
What a mess...!0 -
i orderd on the sunday , then a week ago recieved a letter with invoice in the top right hand corner say coming from suppliers, and will be here by the 16 feb, then a few days ago my account had the money put back in, and then ,on sat recieve a letter saying we have cancelled. due to serious production difficulties, so i would check your account0
