espresso, I have tried reinstalling and it does appear to work as far as converting the files. However, all I seem to get is track 1, track 2 , with nio album or track identification, which would be a real pain.
Is that what you get? or should that part of it work also0 -

Use CDex, or EAC (Exact Audio Copy - the best around although a little more complex).
They'll find the cd by it's id and pull all of the info off the web in one click. They'll also add this info (not just to the filename) to the ID3 tag too. So you basically don't need to do any renaming/typing etc... And all done using the LAME encoder (best around IMHO)."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0 -

Tried all the alternative rippers above.....couldnt figure out how most of them work.
However I do have the solution for the OP. WMP does rip to MP3 without any additional plugins or anything else....however it has a default setting of 128K, which does not work without a registry hack.
So, you can either go to a higher quality, or do the hack as belowIn Windows, click Start, and then click Run.
In the Open text box, type regedit, and then click OK.
In Registry Editor, click the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Settings\Mp3Encoding
In the pane on the right, right-click the LowRateSample value, and then click Delete.
If you see the message "Are you sure you want to delete this value?", click Yes, and then close Registry Editor.illegitimi non carborundum0 -

As in post 11 :beer:0 -
Unfortunately post 11 doesnt say how to resolve the problem if you want to use 128K....it doesnt mention the registry hack.illegitimi non carborundum0
