Ah, I see, well thanks for that Brock - its not so much the theory behind my question, but the ethics of using technicalities within the contracts drawn up by the various lenders against them, as they don't conform to current law that seems to have upset some in this Forum0

Ah, I see, well thanks for that Brock - its not so much the theory behind my question, but the ethics of using technicalities within the contracts drawn up by the various lenders against them, as they don't conform to current law that seems to have upset some in this Forum, and I can see their point, what was I thinking, when I considered using the small print in a contract with a bank to my own advantage, indeed, as you say steal money from them, when all the poor banks are trying to do is make an honest living....
perhaps some in this Forum spend too much time critisising others and not enough time in the real world
Its glaringly obvious that you are another" is this true..." troll that we have seen an awfully lot of lately. Even the most ignorant of fools couldn't fail to find one of the multitude of threads that deal specifically with the issue of unenforceable agreements, had they actually bothered to look.
If you actually have anything constructive to add to the debate over the ethics of this issue, they I would love to hear it. However, I suspect that you simply want to wind up the locals. Aside from being rather adolescent, this activity is like shooting fish in barrel - it demonstrates neither wit nor intellect.
Brock has alluded to the fact that I have consistently defended an individual's right to use the law to their advantage in this situation. Neither have I shied away from attacking those that believe it is morally wrong. However, I don't believe there is a moral imperative to screw banks over either.
Frankly, I find those who come here simply to evangelise and preach an aggressive anti-bank message to be just as tiresome as those who simply want to pour moral scorn on anyone who would assert their consumer rights. The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts.0 -
You're barking up the wrong tree if you're trying to wind me up matey. Speaking of medals, I expect you already have a gold in trolling.
Its a real pity that you couldn't find the answers you were looking for here on MSE. I'm glad you found some "invaluable advice" elsewhere - would you care to share it with us?The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts.0 -
There's been adverts in the papers from Financial Advisors saying that a change in the Consumer Credit Act means that Credit Card & Loans taken out before '97 can be wiped due to a legal loophole!? This sounds too good to be true and Martin hasn't mentioned it - anybody know any more?0

Yes it is completely true. Under current regulations you are entitled to get back any money you have paid, a cash bonus of £10,000, a new top range car, a holiday of your choice, a night with the husband/wife of the directors of the CC company and a cuddly toy. If you just send me a cheque in the sum of £495.00 I will start the process rolling.
