Unenforceable Credit Agreements

The simple solution to all this rubbish would be for the British government to weed out the shysters who have plenty of income to repay their creditors and "make" them pay it all back - at least the original debt less any interest and charges, as for the remainder judge on a case by case basis and offer 0% government funded loans to people in order to clear the debt
I understand your sentiment here Proliant, but do you really think that this is a practical solution ?
Just look at the state benefits system for instance. These are supposed to be means tested but how many people do you know or hear about who have jumped on the benefits bandwagon and are managing to live a certain lifestyle without actually having to work. Who is paying for that ? Yep you and me, the honest taxpayer.
Surely with your idea, the "shysters" who have the funds repay will simply hide those funds and claim to be in financial hardship. It would be a very costly system to police and would probably cost more than the amounts that are written off due to the CCAs being unenforceable.
To me the best way forward is for the Card Providers to get their act together and in the future make sure that their CCAs are foolproof, no arguments. As time goes on, any bad CCA's from pre-2007 will soon be history.0 -
Good grief MSE has changed since I last posted. I've had to trawl through around 20 pages of largely opinionated, misinformed, rhetorical crossfire to find some good advice. Fortunately, those who are offering genuine support or informative industry knowledge are easy to spot.
For anyone who just wants to vent their anger at the 'shysters', you're in the wrong room for an argument and wasting valuable space on the thread. I think I got your argument around about page 5...Lou0 -
Oh Simon, you really don't seem to be able to take your own advice do you?simon_templar wrote: »Well, well Bert&Ernie you must have far too much time on your hands and are a person who is very uptight. Try relaxing and counting to ten, take a deep breath and chill.
Not only have you enough time on your hands to attempt an ironic little dig at me on a completely unrelated thread:simon_templar wrote: »Honestly Proliant, i cant believe you have posted this childish link. It is just soooooo asinine...
...but you clearly are very uptight indeed:simon_templar wrote: »For offensive comments Doshamento, you need look no further than the repugnant comments by the Sesame Street resident and his KKK idea.simon_templar wrote: »I agree, Sesame Street dweller made a crude reference to oral sex about board members and his KKK comment is about the Ku Klux Klan.
:rotfl:The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts.0 -

Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0

Can't you two just get a room/private thread/chamber of egos?
You're offering nothing to people who visit this site for support and advice, which is what this forum was designed for. There are chatrooms that might be more suitable for your banal, off-topic rants.Lou0 -
It has gone off topic due to Hey Bert keep stalking and quoting all the time, maybe you should ask him/them about their cyber bullying tactics.0
