Yes, I am the same. I've walked out of a works meal before the meal was served and sat in the car til they had finished eating as the heat has been unbearable - but everyone else had been fine and said the heating was fine, but once you get into that frame of mind you just cannot escape it and you have to get out.
I do notice that I butt into peoples conversations a lot, I just cannot help it, I know I should not be doing it, but I do it and then think 'Doh! They were talking' and then I feel stupid. You would think after all this time I would realise. And then when someone is speaking to me I do not have anything to talk about.... LOL. Anyone want to be my friend!!0 -
PasturesNew and BlueMonkey, I just found this thread (via the new one) and I just wanted to thank you both for being so open and honest about this, and for putting it all into words so beautifully. What you both say makes perfect sense to me, and I feel like I've just gained a whole new level of understanding of something I don't know much about. You both sound like amazing people, and I hope that if I had the privilege to meet anyone like you in real life (apart from a friend's son I don't actually know anyone with ASD, as far as I'm aware) I'd very much like to be your friend! It definitely helps to realise that something that can seem like very odd and maybe even threatening behaviour may have a completely logical explanation. Thank you.0

Everybody's weird. Some of us are just lucky enough to know how and why.

You could be describing me both the heat thing and the butting in thing (I am the worlds worst for that you would pale in comparison with me.), but if I am on the spectrum I haven't been found out yet. Or are we all a little bit on it somewhere? The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

I whole-heartedly agree with Cissi (very well written too), thanks Pasturesnew and BlueMonkey for sharing.
