I wonder if all techies are northerners ;)

  • Could be...we have the brains...they have the money (which they need considering house prices).
Or..put another way...they have better thing to do with their time than learn geek.
Something to do with it occasionally stops raining dahn sarf, but, instead of like here, the rain stops for the snow to start, down there I've heard (and seen with my own eyes!) that the sun becomes visible for several hours!

I can reliably inform you that in Brighton, the sun does occasionally come out. Not that often, and even then not for long, but you can get some pretty nice sunsets where we live. If I'd uploaded any that I took just the other day to my flickr, I'd invite you to take a look.
Ubuntu is an ancient African word, meaning: 'I can't configure Debian'.
  • Pictures or it didn't happen!
    :)

I don't know who you think you're fooling, the sun does not come out in winter!

Never mind the wrong side of the M62 or the wrong side of the Pennines (or even the wrong side of the North Circular :) ). This is what the weather's like right now on the right side of the English Channel.

Don't laugh at banana republics. :rotfl:

As a result of how you voted in the last three General Elections,
you'd now be better off living in one.

Give me your frank opinion on preston please Database. Always intrigued how bad people find it!

I've not been for several years, though last time I was there I'd have sworn I saw Mother Theresa looking shocked!
