Don't worry, it is the picture that is wrong. I bought this cable last year on the same deal. I got as a collect in store purchase ad you should have seen the guy's face when he saw that the in-store price was £24.99.

I use the cable to connect by Toshiba DVD player to my projector. For me the picture is fine with this cable but I don't have much experience with component cables so I don't know how much it is really worth. I'm sure it is less that £24.99 but more than the £7.49 it cost.

Hope that helps to clarify things.

One question my amp has analogue inputs, optical (sound) and compenents. Is compenent any better than optical for sound I no it does video. I have one output on amp that is video out marked (monitor out) to tv

You are best keeping your audio and video seperate. I'd definitely put the sound through the digital (optical) in and keep the video through the component (assuming your TV and DVD player support it).

The optical input to the amp will have a Digital to Analogue Converter (DAC) on the end of it. Your DVD/CD/whatever player will also have a DAC in front of the audio outputs. Choice is to use the audio outputs from the player which will use the player's DAC, or use the optical which will use the amp's DAC. Really depends on how old/flash the amp and player are - some DACs sound better than others, only way to find out is to try it...

Almost anything will sound better than those little stringy leads you get with components - medium-price OFC leads are well worth a try (Richer Sounds, or make your own).

    I have tv the following

Samsung LCD TV (HD) (2 scarts, 1 compenent)
    DVD recorder Liteon 5006 2digital out - 1 (coaxial) and 1 (optical)
    Humax PVR 9200 - 1 S/PDIF output (audio)
Yamada DVD player (it has 6 RCA sockets) audio + 1 optical digital output
Yamaha RX amp - 2 optial inputs, 2 compentent inputs and 1 compenent outputs.
