Are you telling me you are *not* cute and cuddly with a regal air?

Well another day, another few pence. And I'm feeling a little flat today.

Things that are getting me down:
    1. Popeye away - that always does it :o and really I can't complain, I go out in less tha 2 weeks time.
    2. Work colleagues grumbling/quaralling/competing. The latest is, whose turn is it to go to the trade show? They're both bending my ear about it, asking me to have a word with the boss to persuade him to let them go, but not the other one. Can you believe they've used the words "it's not fair" ??? Neither sees that they are very alike :rotfl:
    3. Nothing in my veg plot has taken. Not the beans I planted in November, and not the garlic planted in Jan. The rest of the garden is sodden. The lawns are entirely moss and the gardening books say I should be preparing the ground, but it is under water.
Things that are going right or I am enjoying:
    1. Parents are coping OK. :D
    2. There are parts of DFW that are FUN - I opened a new soap bar this week, after using a fairly horrid hotel bar of soap, with a smell a cross between washing up liquid and cheap aftershave. It is such a joy to have a luxury bar of soap (Christmas present) with a lovely scent :rotfl:
    3. I've lost 4lb since Christmas:D
    4. Lodger is paying rent, and the money/debts are looking much better
    5. I'm going on holiday in 11 days time, with Popeye :D
So on the one hand work (40 hours a week) is Pants, but on the other hand I'm pleased by a bar of soap. Is this what my life means nowadays? :rotfl:

    Hi Olive,

Sorry to hear things aren't going too well at work. Just concentrate on your holiday - not long to go now.

Well done on the 4 lb weight loss!

I agree re:lovely soap OO and with regard to mine avatar - I am indeed like mine, mais crapaud, pas grenouille.

I wonder if any of you have read rugbymum's Thread.
Found her by chance and 'introduced' her to the lovely mot, with whom I'll visit on Friday.
OO, it's another beautiful blue sky start to day here, which I hope will last all day long and banish any gloom that held on through to this morning.
I'm just reading the post-chapters of John Connolly's 'The Book of Lost Things' and suspect it's already a 'return to/keep close' text, along with many other disparate tomes. Pathetically, I also like the feeling of eager presence in a seminar and the rushes of what pass for Original Insight.

Oh, it really IS a BEAUTIFUL day - I hope you can all turn your face to the sun for even a few minutes today.medium-smiley-133.gif

    Dear Olive,
What it means is that you have your priorities ABSOLUTELY right.
Keep that thought - and bob's signature - close and let it sustain you, unlike others at your work.

Olive - I just wanted to say, I always read your diary and you never fail to amuse, inspire and motivate me. Thank you

So enjoy that soap, 4lb weight loss (not sure how jealous I am of that) and look forward to your holiday with Popeye.

Lets hear it for nice bars of soap! I think they're crucial..... I'm glad to hear you'll be seeing Popeye so soon, but it sounds like it still feels ages away. And as for w**k - they sound crazy. Good for you for staying sane.
