I managed another NSD day yesterday :D Even though I was sorely tempted, and I really need to get some shopping in.

    So today I will
    • get to the shops and buy very few bits. (I fly out again next Friday, courtesy of air miles earned over the last 2 years :money:)
    • menu plan for the next 6 days - I have a chicken in the freezer which I shall rubberise
    • going to the theatre tonight :D
    • I've written the letter cancelling my gym membership from the end of the year  (must post it.....)
    • make a list/sort out things to pack and *leave* in Africa :D
    • get some boxes out of the loft for a friend who is moving house
    • try Bingo in the evening instead of the morning, in case I have better luck :D
Tomorrow I'm taking the aged-P's to the shops for a new digi-box and a new dishwasher. They seem OK about me deserting them, but I've promised that I'm only 24 hours away, which is virtually the same as here because of work.

    Okay, two points:
    - what are you going to see at the theatre? :)
    - you're *not* deserting the aged Ps!!!! You've just said in the same post you're 24 hours away! Admittedly, you can't be over as *often*, but thats different.

Tut tut, Olive - we have to keep our eyes on you! :)

    :confused::confused:
Popeye is getting mixed messages about his future there - but more or less settled at "at least the next 12 months"
I still want to be in a play that is on in April :o:o:o:o
So "early" next year is when I'll go, but I'll be back for much of March and April.

No idea how to do multiple quotes :o so I've copied & pasted:

-My Fair Lady - easy on the eye and ear, and I go with a cluster of elderly ladies from the drama group and they're a complete scream, and the naughtiest girls in town :rotfl:
    - that was *their* view. Though they think I should go, they feel sorry for themselves - (and when I say them, I really mean him - she will forget/not understand :()

Hmm, I can see why mixed messages help make it difficult to commit to the place. And when you've got that vibe from Aged P (singular) - well, there's no easy way round that, or that your mum won't understand. Which causes more heartache more you, not less. My heart goes out to you, Olive - there's no easy solution to this, its simply one of the costs of living in the twenty first century. But our emotions are still back in Neolithic and earlier.

I hope you could put it to one aside and enjoy a night out with the naughty ladies :rotfl: that sounds like **fun**

It was an ace production and the old dears were great fun - even bought me an ice cream :rotfl:

Still no luck on Bingo :p no matter what time of day or night I try.

Now I'm sorting things ready for my Friday departure. It looks like I might be out every evening this week :eek: so must get as much sorted as possible tonight. So far:
    • Boxes down from loft for friends who are moving - will deliver them Tuesday evening.
    • DD's luggage into loft to clear space in her room for lodger to return for cat minding duties while I'm away
    • plants who require it, given their weekly soak.
    • returned kettle for refund this afternoon :D (I've been procrastinating for WEEKS, and it was no trouble at all)
    • done 2 of the 3 calls that I MUST do
Still to do tonight - the most time consuming of the calls, start collecting things together for packing. Then I must make another list, of things to be sorted before I go. :rotfl:

Well I'm out here and have started the preparations for an ex-pat life next year *gulp*
Had my first session towards getting a visa, and have asked if we can apply for a work permit - it would be so much better if I could get a job. Tomorrow I'll have my medical - I think they need to check that I'm not importing swine flu.

So this morning I've had a meeting, caught up on the Archers, cleared up the kitchen from the weekend and now I'm seriously bored. Sort of toying with the idea of going to the local shop for a pint of milk, and I've set my heart on a mop with scrubbing brush attachment for cleaning the corners that the maid has missed.........that job is obviously a necessity otherwise I shall go bonkers. :rotfl: Can't go swimming as the gardener is due and I'd scare him off.

    ho hum.

:rotfl:the maid... the gardener......... ah, life is so hard in Africa!

Never mind.... you need to learn to crochet or something - make stuff to sell on etsy? Anyway, hope the gardener's been by now and you can have a swim, you'll be superfit.

    Well I'm back
And the weather in Africa degenerated to the pantsiest weather they have ever had in their Summer :rotfl:

And Popeye's future is so up in the air.:
    1. He's def. staying in Africa, but maybe with this particular job, or his company may move him
    2. If he stays in this job it will be for only 3 months more - unless it is for longer
    3. If he moves now, he will be preparing for work/projects in the next couple of years at about 4 different places in the globe.
    4. He may have to take a pay cut, or he may be promoted........(or maybe both :confused:)
    5. And he'll either definitely get his bonus in December (= debt free) or he won't
So I should post our musings on here, but I never know from one moment to the next if it is good news or not. But there's plenty of time before the end of the year isn't there? :D

I think I've finished BB, so I've signed him up - you never know we might need the extra fiver here and there, I cleared £28 over the month - it could have been more, but they wouldn't allow me to withdraw when I was in Africa. :rotfl:
I completed a mystery shop yesterday, and have signed up for another today for next week :D

Wow! Well those are some interesting definitive statements! :) Erm, that level of uncertainty could well feel a bit....... downmaking?
