I'm giving the mulled wine to my priest for Christmas 09, the 2 x bottle of wine to my dad as part of his birthday present, me and the kids are eating all the goodies like, cakes, biscuits, chocs and pud, and the basket will be used to make up a hamper i'll be making for my parents for Christmas 09 (filled with lakeland goodies i bought in the 60% 0ff sale).

I also bought the port and mint choccies hamper reduced from £20 to £6. I'll put the port in the hamper i make for my parents for Christmas 09 too.

I'm chuffed to bits to be so organised so ealry on in the year!

I hope I'm wrong katholicos, (I often am ;)) but I noticed that some of the M&S Christmas stock had really short shelf lives, for things that you'd expect to last a lot longer. Maybe if someone's ordered this hamper before the sale will know better, but I doubt much of it will last till Christmas 09

But as I said, I really hope I'm wrong.

M&S are really good...take a screen shot showing it states free delivery and email it to their customer services...they will refund the charge straight away.

What is their email address? I can only see the online email that doesnt allow you to past any screenshots! Thanks in advance.

I don't know about M&S ,but I bought a Tesco one at 75% last Jan, and everything had really long dates. I gave the wine and other bits and pieces as separate gifts, used the basket to make up another hamper, and still have the Xmas pudding and some of the jars, some of which have 2010 dates on them!

No idea why the quote isn't working sarahg  but just wanted to mention that the Tesco one was excellent - which is what made me wonder about the M&S one ... iyswim? :)

  • Fantastic find - Huge thanks and  to OP - that should be a glass of wine though (hic).
I found this page whilst rummaging seems to have most of the M&S hampers in one place - not the claret in leather case but that just got removed from my basket as OOS. Ho hum. If the rest all come I reckon I've got several birthday presents and a Christmas present sorted, and some bits for DS to take back to Uni to nibble.
I have a couple of bottles of the Cava from the 'Dine in' offer, and on the back they say to drink within 6 months of purchase, so that might be something to watch out for.

    Cheers all
