charlotte664 wrote:I can only do Virtual. Haven't quite got the hang of Actual - cos any savings I do make end up in my purse for pocket money for the kids and stuff!
(And chocolate, but dont tell anyone!)
Thought for you - if you give your children regular pocket money, add it to your budget just like any other expense. That is how I deal with my boys pocket money. As for the chocolate - you need a choccy budget(seriously!)
*Anything* that you spend regularly should be on the basic budget, it's the only way to know what you are truly spending each week/month.
nic - thank you for the clarification and the link:T
savingpennies - WTG on the £20 :T and good luck on achieving your target!
ladywood - Congrats on the SC, BM and getting the chair re-covered!! :T :T :T Brilliant!
scuzz - you pot is sounding nice and healthy; ditto with your penny/5p pots:T
Keep up the great work everyone - I don't know about anyone else, but I get so much inspiration from reading everyone else's successes.
Oh, before I pop off again, another little tip I picked up that I'm going to incorporate ... when using the WM, I'm going to put £1 in a pot (this will be added to pin money in theory, but in fact, it'll be my way of saving up for repairs/renewal of the machine - any over will then be mine for the pms)
No longer using the dryer but if I *did* use it, I think I should charge myself a fiver LOL - then it will act as a deterant too~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I'd like to join in with the challenge this month. I have been working out some ways of getting extra bits, and this month, i've managed £44.02 from buying things i would have bought anyway through Quidco, and doing online surveys for Ciao. I've opened an ING account and put this amount in there so i can't just waste it.
I'm not planning any big purchases this month, so i'm setting a small target of £15, which i think i can achieve.
We are hoping to decorate the living room fairly soon, so i would like to be able to afford some accessories for the room (curtains/cushions) from this fund. If i do well, it may even pay for some of the cost of decorating.
Good luck everyone.0 -

I put the key to my moneybox in a block of ice in the freezer then if I want to get to it it takes me 30 minutes to remember where in the freezer it is then 10 minutes (microwave) or 30mins in the sink hot water (naughty me, how wasteful!) to thaw it out by which time I probably don't want the money anyway.
I used to put my credit cards in the freezer too but the signature strip got mushed and the chip in the chip and pin went a bit wonky!!

Am still trying to get the hang of this but had a great first month selling loads on eBay. :j
Just wanted to check something - have this week cancelled a subscription to the Caravan Club since we never use it (have a camper but tend to stay in non-affiliated sites anyway) - saving will be £34 (for the year) that would have gone out at the end of this month. Can I count that as PMS or is that cheating?! Probably will count to next month's target though since my month starts on 26th.
Thanks0 -

Thanks! Just cooked a beef stew in the SC. So easy - 15 mins preparation this morning, a quick stir when I got in - fab! And who'd have thought that a cheaper cut of meat, a few potatoes, carrots and onions could be soooo delicious!
I think I'm a convert!0 -

Cheating?? :rotfl: No way! That is a great saving, well done! :T
Michelle - stashing your 'actual' PMS in an ING account is a great way of preventing it from being absorbed elsewhere. Love your focus of using it for soft furnishing/decorating project; that'll help motivate you.

Yorkielass - best of luck with your sales.
I've just completed an online shop with Tesco and used a voucher which said I'd gain clubcard points, but looks as if it's given me money off the shopping as well; I shall know for sure tomorrow and then I can also add any savings which I *know* I've made but doesn't get deducted until delivery.
All the best, everyone. :T~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
