Just got home from town (Peterborough) & they have most of the wrapping paper for 49p (i got 6 rolls of 8-10 metres all at that price) there are a few that are slightly more expensive, they had winnie the pooh crackers reduced from £7.99 down to £1.99 & lots of other christmas crackers, gift tags etc & my biggest bargain, 30 baubles for the tree reduced from £13.99 down to £1.99.
Hope that helps some people who like to buy in advance.

Went into the one in Inverness today and got some crackers £14.99 for £2.99. Also cards from £4.99 to 99p and others £2.99 for 49p. Lovely red/gold tartan paper £2.99 for 49p.If I had known then what I know now . . .

All Xmas wrapping paper in store now reduced to 49p per roll. Crackers are also down to £2 but not much selection. Assistant told me that the Xmas cards will be marked down again at the weekend. Currently they are 1/2 price.
I always buy my Xmas wrap & cards in January. I put them away in the box with the Xmas decorations so I have them next Christmas.~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)0 -

The first Xmas you find your cards in with your decorations and remember they were reduced for £5 to 50p is fantastic. You are instantly hooked on bargains. This year I found 3 packs of 20 cards which I bought in Homebase for for 50p per pack and 3 for 2. The original price is still on the box £6.99. Cost me £1. House of Fraser is also good for selling off Xmas wrap. This is usually 3 for 2 (they never remember to update their tills) and £1 but some of it is plain metallic so you can use as ordinary gift wrap.~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)0 -
I bought Xmas cards in the sale last year and forgot... when I got the decorations out this year I found the cards but I had already bought new for this year before I got decorations out......
I had far too many Xmas cards this year...lol
I have decided to do the same as a friend of mine next year... I am gonna give the money I usually spend on Xmas cards to childline.....0 -
I always do this every year ,as you say its great getting the decs out and finding youve already got your cards and wrapping paper in at a fraction of the price. This year picked up 4 packs of lovely £4.99 xmas cards from whs for 49p each. Also guarantees youll get decent cards back!! Also homebase is good for reducing Xmas stuff down to next to nothing ,this year we had super posh crackers which I picked up last yearMoneysaving? - I cant stop spending because of this site!0

I'm on the hunt for nice crackers. This year we had HOF best £20 for 6 crackers. Think I paid about £3. Lovely gifts inside which DD has nabbed!
I think Boots are my best bet. They are just 1/2 price at the moment. Not good enough! Also good time to start getting stocking fillers for next Xmas.~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)0 -

They do have some lovely cards.
:wall: But I thought I'd got good deals yesterday. Along with the lonely, half price, seemingly perfect teddy who had a seam split and his foot nearly fall off within an hour of getting him home.
Can I find the receipt? Can I heck. Even if I could, could I really bring myself to return a poor, injured unwanted teddy and codemn him to the bin at the back of the shopping centre?
Hope everyone else enjoys this! :bitter twisted icon:Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

How sweet, what a big softie! At least he won't eat much!
I too picked up some of the 49p, 4 metre rolls of wrapping paper, down from £3.99.
