    Morning all,

Well I did a quick search on this thread about the magpie thing, I spent the last 2 hours putting barcodes in and also searching on CEX with all of the dvd's we have in various places that we don't want/won't use etc ...

Magpie was rubbish for the prices but CEX did a £49.80 cash price, or £75.80 exchange price, I told OH and he said ooh I could have a new game for my computer with that on an exchange  it didn't matter that most of them were mine which I was planning to sell on a bootsale, nor does it matter that we are living off my wage of approx £24 a week  then when I mentioned that I would have to box them up and post them off and asked for some money (his money heaven forbid) to post them he told me to forget it ... well needless to say OH is now sitting there is his PJ's (yes at 11 o clock) with no head as I have just snapped it off :mad::mad: he doesn't seem to understand that he needs to get his P45 so we can try and claim benefits or at least try and get help to pay with our £800 mortgage, nor does he understand that the £45 from there would have been ideal to keep food in the cupboards for a couple of weeks  I feel like killing him.... all he does is sit on his xbox or on my ds ... he rarely gets dressed and doesn't help with the kids or housework ... he didn't come to bed til 5am this morning as he was busy playing on his xbox ...

Grrrrr am I the only woman who has such a git of a partner

Anyway I have 2 mobile phones, one which was free to me as I broke mine and I can get £14 from as it is working, and the other is broken and I can get £4.20 cash from it or can exchange them both for vouchers (m&s) for £22 ....

I presume I am going down the right kind of ways for money neutral and organised? even though I would be using the money for bills? (birthdays are cancelled as we cannot afford it)

  • Awwww (((Rusty))), sorry your having a hard time of it, but glad you've joined us on here. If the money is needed for bills, do that with it, keeping a roof over your head etc is the best pressie you can give yourself & the kids. Well done for comparing site prices - going to raid our DVD & CD collection this weekend, I rarely watch a DVD twice.
My OH went through a faze like yours & it was due to depression - he'd spend almost all his time in the lounge, curtains drawn playing games. Took a lot to get him out of it, anytime you want to relieve the stress in a major rant thats not for public eyes you know where the PM button is.

Well done Sarah, Ive lost my motivation on surveys at the mo, need to give myself a good kick up the backside & allocate a bit of time each day to doing it without distraction.

Hope your feeling better Furry, nothing worse than being on holiday & not being able to enjoy it properly.

Paddington, I'm forbidden from seeing the cake :(

Jamtart, I mainly use ipoints for the odd 5/10pt click on adverts, means it takes ages to get points up but its a quick click everyday - on the odd occassion I will pay attention & sign up for something or use it to click through to a shop which boosts the points. So to summarise my ramblings, quick daily click, but long time to build up oints this way.

(((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))) Rusty, sorry your so down, men always seem to moan about us (How dare they......), but they always seem to go the same way when they are down, into their own little world and block everything else out, putting their heads in the sand, and unless they see it for themselves we can never tell them or help them (Hope that makes sense hun!!). I'm sure he will snap out of it soon. You just keep on going honey and remeber things will get better and we all go through times like this. Find yourself something to focus on so your not sat there watching him playing games (Which will nag at you...I know it nags at me)

Thanks sylphraven, not been doing them for long so I suppose the novelty hasn't worn off yet LOL, and the Coffee has been keeping me going. Just need to make sure I get Amazon vouchers from them so I can put them towards the kids Pressies as that is what will take me off being Money Nuetral this year. (Well Doctor Who stuff is Expensive, and DS1 wants a video camera.)

Hope your feeling better today FURRY???

Hope everyone is having a nice Day

    Take Care

  • I know what you mean about Dr Who being expensive, DS1 is a huge fan & wants almost EVERYTHING, if you can get vouchers for play.com from anywhere they sell the stuff as well. Boots has had a few bits & bobs in over the past couple of years around christmas so 342 or in the sales after christmas. I'm constantly keeping my eyes open for dr who bargains so shall let you know if I find any.

Thanks for that, both my boys are MAD FANS, DS1 wants to be Doctor who when he grows up (hence wanting the video camera... So he can practise the roll LOL)

I just can't seem to keep up with all the new ones they are bringing out at the moment  it drives me mad, cos they think they can have new ones each week.

Have you seen these time squad figures that are coming out next month?

Quick question, I've just started doing the Bview Reviews (think it was Jammy who recomended them???) How do you tell them how you want paying (I'm probably being really dumb like) ?? I want to get the vouchers you see??

Help I'm totally confused LOL........... must be all the coffee I drink.

    Hi
BView pay at the end of the month, you get an email asking how you want paying, cheque, paypal, I'm not sure if they still do the Amazon vouchers, but you can always ask, it was Simon Miller who asked about the payment to me.
I had paypal and it went through within about 10 minutes of me emailing him back.

Im sorry your haveing such a hard time, I know it may sound daft, but by ur oh getting his P45 its admitting that is job is over, I know it is and you know it is but as men are brought up to be the bread winner and tradational roles it could be a massive dent to him as a man. I fully agree re the miney, food etc, but maybe he cant see that, the constatnt game playing hes gone into denial mood, sorry to say but I think you may need to get hom to speak to someone he may be experiencing depression and the only way he can handle it is teh game playing.

Thats good going with the phones etc, as they say every penny helps. Re mortgage there be more info and help on the benfits board, may be worth popping across there for alook, I could be wrong but I think ifs its jsa you have to wait 13 weeks before u get any mortgage help. (soory). x

Thanks mum2one, I did wonder as there is no where to say how you want paying. I will keep on reviewing and hope they still do the amazon vouchers.

    Thanks for the advice

  • Sorry, Hijacking the thread for Dr Who Toy talk :p

Ds1 hasnt seen those yet (I have), I'm hoping he wont want them as he's got almost all of the 5" action figures, & almost all the micro universe ones. What annoys me are the new build & collect figures. DS definately wants them, but it means buying a lot of doubles. He's suggested I put these on ebay but it would mean paying about £8 each, & selling for about £1.99 (if that) minus fees - x 10 out of 20new figures - thats a loss of over £60!!!!! for 2 characters!

Anyone know of an email address I can complain to? The fans who collect these toys are definately being ripped off as identical ones, minus the part to build the gelth/vespiform, were released in november(ish)
