  • We have snow here (North Lincs) it's not really settling more of a light dusting really but still enough to be a pain in the backside! I hate it and my car hates it.

Hope it's not too bad tomorrow as I have it booked in for new tyres. Kwikfit offered to match the price from 3 years ago without me even asking :D. Still expensive though.

Am not being very thrifty at the mo as have ordered some more cuttlebug dies :o but I will definitely use them to save money on buying cards.

Glad it's not snowing in Newcastle OH has been there all week and is due home tonight. He informed me by text that he has decided to apply for a job up there and wondered why I was a tiny bit upset - maybe coz although it had been discussed in passing and he'd told me the advert was out he had just assumed that I knew and telling someone that they will possibly have to uproot themself and everything else that goes with it by text is maybe not the best way of doing things. It doesn't help that our house needs serious work done on it and would never sell in the state it's in. Last week he was talking about new windows and flooring and had just put wardrobes up then he wonders why I was in shock and didn't sound very enthusiastic.

Sorry moan over am sure it will all be fine - don't know how I will tell my mother or DD's dad as they already think we live at the end of the world :rotfl:

  • Hello all

We still have a white (well, grey now) park where I live, the roads have mostly cleared, but the park is still an ice-rink. It's raining this morning, so I guess it will all melt today. I still can't believe how much snow we got in Central London, it's a bit mad, but was great to watch all the kids in the park from 7am to midnight having snowball fights, laughing and sliding around. We were the first in the park at 6am with the dog, so we got to make the first footprints (don't know why that made me smile so much!).

Anyway, getting a bit worried, haven't got my cheque from MusicMagpie (couple of weeks), or my Qype voucher, or my Mopay M&S vouchers for my phone - I've parted with all my stuff and haven't got the money yet - does anyone else have experience time-wise with these things???

Hope you all have a wonderful day.
  • Morning all, very excited today, we've had as much snow over night as we did over the past week, & I get to see baby Kaidence. Unfortunately DS1s school is still open, the headmistress is staying in the local hotel (nice for some) so she can set an example & get in to school - she says its open no matter what.

Saw some ice shot glass moulds in bhs yesterday reduced to £2 so I grabbed them to make chocolate ones. They'll be fab for valentines day filled with baileys mousse, I've even got a recipe to make the baileys myself, & I've got most of the ingredients in already. I'm sure I can think of ways to use them for any occassion.

goochie - wouldn't worry about Qype. They took a few weeks to get mine out but they arrived no probs. They did say they wouldnt even consider sending them until after 31st Jan. They have to 'quality' check the reviews before sending them out.

paddingtondoo - oh dear poor you :( try and sit him down tonight and tell him how you feel, otherwise you'll be "havin a reet canny time in tha toon before you know it pet" :S

to let you all know - I signed up with panelbase.net 2 weeks ago and their surveys are nice and short - I have done approx 3, and am up to 4.95 already. Don't know how reliable they are for paying out yet mind. Try it out though - pm me your e-mail and I'll refer you if you like - I'll get 20p for doing that I think! worth a look.

Still plugging on with onepoll - about 30.00 so far - will I ever get there?

I do one poll. took a while to get to the £40 but it paid out not long before Christmas so was well happy about that. Over a tenner in it again now already.
  • thanks jammy - I don't mind the move (well apart from the hassle) but it's the way he went about telling me .

Then he came over all - well if it was just me......... and I'm being really selfish but......... and said he wasn't going to bother - so he totally got the wrong end of the stick.

didn't help that the vodafone reception was carp and kept cutting off :rotfl:.

Will sit him down tonight (if he makes it back through the snow) and give him a big Paddington stare if it don't stop snowing here soon he may have to have a marmalade sandwich as well as i have nowt in! Had to make flapjack as we had no biscuits :p.
