  • JordanShannon - well done you, I love it when people get nice surprises!

JamTart - I sold about 40 CD's and 5 DVD's, some of them went for 25p and others for £3 or more, (so an average of £1 each), a lot of our CD's are more recent and they didn't sell because they had too much stock, but I haven't looked at Ebaying them yet, so there could be more money to be made. We haven't listed to CD's for so long, we won't miss them and OH has everything on his Mac at work or I-pod anyway. Also, you can email them and they will send you some packaging (FOC) if you don't have enough - they sent me 10 x jiffy bags with all the labels on, ready to go, so I only had to find a box for the rest.

I think the one that sold for the most was a Beatles double CD for around £3.50.

  • Hi everyone

Just thought I'd let you know that if you are selling cds on ebay you do not have to photograph them if you don't wish to. You can use the quick search option which means if you type in the barcode it brings up a stock picture of the cd with all the details of songs on cd etc so you only need type up a quick sales pitch - saves lots of time:D

Thanks cheletastic - that is true actually :)

I'll tell you all a little story, are you sitting comfortably then I'll begin...once upon a time there was a girl named Jamtart6, and she had heard so much about 'trainspotting' the movie, but had never seen it. She had longed to watch it for an eternity. One day she decided to try and buy in on DVD, but because it was made in 1996, when DVDs weren't around, the evil people at HMV and Virgin and even play.com were attempting to charge here £18 for the pleasure. "no no no" thought jamtart6, "this just won't do". So she had a bright idea "I'll try eBay" she said. She watched various auctions, where most sold for about £12 but was still reluctant to buy it. One day she managed to find it and got it for £7 inc. p+p. She was ecstatic! She got in the post, watched it and thought it was brilliant. A lightbulb flashed inside jamtart6's head as she remembered MSE Martin's tip... "buy a film and sell it straight away when you have watched it, as it only costs a couple of quid then, just like renting"....so she duly photographed the DVD, listed it on eBay and waited....and waited....and waited........and lo and behold the price got to £5, then £7, then £9 "whoop!" thought jamtart6 -"I'm in profit!".......the dvd sold for £18 plus p+p. The moral of the story is...well I don't know but I liked telling it like a story. Jamtart6 lived happily ever after with her £11 profit and was a very happy little tart! :D

(basically if anyone sees that at a bootsale, snap it up as its worth a fortune!!)

I found 3 old mobiles in the cupboard, thought I would do them on Mazuma, one was £2. one was £1.50 and the other one I coundt find the IMEI number to it on the phone so am charging it up to see if it works to get it. Not a lot to come back but better than nothing and went through Quidco so might get a bit back from them too, says £1.50 a handset on the site.

just brought down pile of cds and put them in Music Magpie and they were all either too many in stock or they couldnt find the bar codes haha not my day is it. Oh has loads of cds upstairs though and is going to have a sort out tomorrow to see if he can bear to part with any.
  • Hi Jamtart, yes they do need to be in good condition, no cracks etc. However, I had quite a few cracked ones, so I just swapped covers with ones that didn't sell! Who said I wasn't "crafty"???!! :rotfl:

We often do this, as we are terrible at following series on TV, so we generally wait until the box set comes out, watch it, lend it to BIL and then I sell it back, usually on Amazon, I usually get at least 70% back from what I paid for it.
