    Hi everyone:hello:

Mum and Dad are finally okay, all my orders have come through BUT i am now making another one thanks to my dad (he is encouraging me/he thinks the stuff i have got is really pretty) i have added another bargain to my basket from docrafts its a scrapbook and card making kit was £102.90!!!  Down to £17.99:D and i've had to buy another classic print scrapbook album dual pack for £6.99 again as they were SOOOOOOO good:D I'm a bit hesitant on making anything now as everything is so nice the way it is, i'm almost sure i will spoil it all, and it will all go t*ts up :rotfl:
I need any hints anyone has picked up while 'scrapping', please help me_pale_
Love to you all and eveyone who is having a hard time or a bad day
    :grouphug: *HUGS*:grouphug:
    ..xx

Bad, bad JordanShannon. I had a look at that website (I had no control over my hands) and currently have £33 in my basket. I have such a backlog of knitting and cross stitch that I really shouldn't be buying anything but the offers are amazing (rrp of that £33 is nearly £160). I've never done any scrapping although I'd love to start and there's some lovely card sets too (good for me as I have no artistic talent so kits are perfect).

I have to stop reading this thread!

Hi I am still working on getting organised (going well) and money neutral (not so well!). have decided I must start selling on ebay! So I have a little question for all you experienced e bayers (esp Jamtart queen of ebay)... how do you work out how much postage to charge? this is the bit that is stopping me actually putting my stuff on ebay!

Also...those of you who have ordered the whispers pens which set(s) did you get? they are BOGOF so can order two sets but there are 3 to choose from and I can't decide:rotfl:

Queen of eBay here! - What type of thing do you have bunbun2? There is a thingy on the royal mail website that tells you about pricing and calcultaes a rough idea of what prices are for diff weights. There is letter, packet and parcel....the flatter you can get things packed the better so bare that in mind when packing. I would say that paypal+insertion+final value fee+ postage is approx. 1/3 of the cost of your final price

    e.g. ipod cost is £30, packaging is £5 = total cost £35

by the time you have taken the final value fee, actual postage, pay pal and insertion fee off....you probably have about £21/£22 left

Dunno - let me know a few items (by PM if you want) and I'll give you a rough idea :)

asc - click checkout, and resolve to make some scrapbooking type gifts for peoples bdays/xmas that way you get to scrap but save money on presents :) *everyones a winner!!* :D

:ABeing Thrifty Gifty again this year:A

Oooh Jammy, I like your reasoning!

But what I really want to do is some memories for the children. I have a dread of dying (sorry - morbid) and leaving them nothing in the way of my thoughts and hopes for them. I keep trying to write them letters to put away until they're older but I usually end up bursting into tears!

Part of me thinks that if I spent some money of these things I'll have to get off my backside and do something. The other part thinks that they'll be too nice to spoil with my hamfisted efforts! :rotfl:

Bunbun. Don't expect to make anything on the books unless they're unusual ones. Part of my clutter consists of paperbacks bought off ebay for 1p in most cases. You can be 'generous' with the post and packing but if you take the mickey, people just wont bid.

I'm not saying you shouldn't do it, but don't expect to make your fortune!

I calculate postage by using the Royal Mail website. I weigh the item then round up (to allow for the packaging). It's up to you whether you offer 1st/2nd class or just one method (ie the cheapest). It does annoy me when people will only offer first class postage, I don't care if it takes an extra couple of days. Oh, and ALWAYS get proof of posting. It's free, just ask when you send the item.

  • Hello to all, hope you are all having a good week, and hugs to those who aren't.

Righty-roo, it's Friday and I am making a list of things to do (first time I've done this "out loud" if you like!), I am usually pretty organised but not very MSE, thrifty or gifty most of the time.

    1. Had roast chicken last night, loads left with lots of roasted veg, so when I get home I'm making a big pot of broth for tea and freezer. (yum)
    2. Also making a big vat of meatballs for tomorrow and freezer. (yum, yum).
    3. Need to wrap some birthday presents (mostly bought last year, but some from Amazon this week, not money neutral but at least get Nectar points, which go towards Xmas).
    4. Must clear out bathroom cupboard, it looks like a bomb has hit it and there are bound to be loads of half-opened things that can either be used up or thrown out.
    5. Clear out kitchen cupboards, one of them is too high, and I put stuff up there and forget about it, so probably will need to throw out some stuff as well (on dear), but then I can make an inventory of what I have got. I'm pretty sure we could live for a month on the cupboard food and freezer food!
    6. Must write a letter/email to my relatives in Australia, I have been meaning to do this for weeks, very bad.
    7. Re-order a birthday card from Moonpig (there was an error with the printing).
    8. Decant a vast amount of sloe gin into bottles.

I am sure there is lots more to do and I am making a list for the first Rudolph Day (apologies if I called it the wrong thing but I know it has Rudolph in it!).

Oh, and this week I have found a grand total of £11.01 on the pavement and I won £4 on a scratchcard given to me at Christmas, so that can go in the Christmas pot. Oh, and sold a DVD on Amazon making another £21.69. I've been in such a down mood all week, but typing the above just made me smile. :j

I just spent most of the morning on Qype and nearing the 2nd tier and have realised that there is no current competition at the moment, so wasted a bit of time for nothing, but hey ho, I quite enjoyed writing reviews.

Blimey I think that was my longest post ever, so thanks for anyone who read it!

    Have a great weekend. x

If its any help, when I have sold dds clothes, if its a swimsuit or bikini, I usually put £1.50 p+p, if its a skirt / top / trs aim around £2.00 mark, have been known before to weigh them on kitchen scales for a rough idea. xx
