lol mum2one - were they still £4.99 for the lot - bargain.

Started two new survey companies yesterday so can't say what they're like but they were recommended by money wise - they are yougov.com and Panelbase.net. Will let you all know what they're like after I get some surveys.

You are all getting me in a crafty mood, my dad has given me a tall canvas drawer thing where the drawers are on rails - the deal is I have to sort it for myself or give out all the bits inside to give to mum's scrapping friends, etc then I can use it to keep my stash tidy - but the problem is I don't want to part with anything, we used to scrap together so I pick up something and I know what she wanted to do with it so I leave it and continue her projects myself, my goal for this weekend then is to sort some stash for giving to her friends - I know they'll make good use of them and I have a room full from mum anyway, this is just one unit!.

off the subject of the thread but here's something of my mam I did when I first started scrapping - my style has changed a bit since

scattymam1 - how lovely, and what a great way to remember your mam. I could never imagine sitting down with my mum to do any type of crafting, but my 20yr old DD often asks for my cardmaking bits so that she can make cards for me or her friends. She made me a birthday card using teabag folding (I think that's what its called!) - something I've never even tried. :)

How lovely as well that you can carry on scrapbookingwith your mum's things so you'll have more pages that remind you of her. :)

thanks guys - she also left us about 20 of her own scrap books of her to remember her by but also ones she had done of the kids and of us - because each page has journalling and titles they will be able to see what their grandma was like and how much she adored them, example - a page with my niece and the words sent from heaven and cute will mean a lot to her when she's older...I have made a few mini books for birthdays and christmases and people really love them

Dont know anything about Panelbase, but You Gov, they dont pay out until you have earned £50.00, both dad and I have you gov accounts, 2 yrs later, hes on £28.00, I'm on £23.00......... you get a lot of the "free ie we want your opinion for free", we average a survey a fortnight, you may get more it does depend on your initial questionaire. x
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx
  • Well I eventually went sale shopping yesterday.Still have to get that gift inventory sorted out but I now have loads for next christmas which is good stuff and was really cheap.I had lots left which I didnt give xmas 2008 but now I have everything for the girls and ladies except dd,s main gift for 2009.
BHS were clearing a load of costume jewellery all at £2,it was at least 75% off and some of it rrp up to £18,I got some nice jewellery sets in there too so everyone is getting jewellery from me next year and I just have to get jewellery boxes from somewhere now.
WHSmith were clearing lots of nice bits at £2 also.I got grey bear stuff and some pink kitty and puppy bits, tracy beaker stuff too, spent £26 in WHSmith but thats all of dd,s xmas 2009 apart from the nintendo ds which I will save up quidco cashback for.
Clinton cards had some fab bargains too but I didnt buy anything. All their xmas grey bears were half price, even the giant ones.

  • and I just have to get jewellery boxes from somewhere now.

I saved this link yesterday as I thought the boxes looked like they might be fairly easy to make ...box

They could be left plain or decorated with a xmas theme.

  • Thanks, they look great.I would use card covered with fancy free wallpaper samples from B&Q.I used free wallpaper samples to wrap my special gifts for the grown ups at christmas and they looked amazing.I stuck a piece onto plain card to make matching gift tags and used matching satin ribbon(free samples from online gift wrap specialist) to tie round them.
It looked like I had used the £10+ a sheet paper you can get in papyrus etc.

  • That's a great idea! There's a diy store next to the supermarket, I think they'll be seeing a lot of me this year ;)
