I just spoke to 02 and they confirmed the premium rate numbers I had been charged for were; 07950 2.5 mins for 90p, 0871 27mins for £8.07, 0871 9min 33s for £2.84
and 0911 13mins for £8.93.
just put call-barring back on. he confirmed that 0844 and 0774 numbers were included. i will just have to look for these next time i need to make international calls.0 -

i dont have my bill with me now(im at work). however the guy from 02 confirmed the prefixes were 07950, 0871 and 0911. I once again tried the simply-fone number and the call is disconnected immediately it finishes dialling. I cant see any other of the dialaround numbers starting with 0774 or 0844 so it looks like my cheap calls to ireland will have to stop.0

Having had a look at the MSE call checker 0871 and 09 codes are for access numbers to call Mobiles in Ireland, whereas there are 0844 numbers (which you can use on o2) for calling landlines in Ireland.Nearly debt free

If you have the International Traveller Service on O2 then European numbers are 17p per minute, so you should not use any service that costs more. It's a pity O2 didn't suggest this when you explained about unbarring the numbers.
To call an Irish mobile, try a different 07744 provider such as Yourcallworld (weekdays only), as S-F hardly cover European mobiles any more.0
