Seriously! That is crazy man, have people got nothing better to do than go on a witch hunt over something like this though?
I don't really see why people are laughing at the OP. "Price Promise Guarantee" is widespread in the commercial marketplace.
Many suppliers offer a similar promise and Credit Card providers certainly used to.
If it used a sales technique to get people to buy the goods or use a particular payment method, then if you have a case to make a claim then why not ?0 -
I'm not sure why people are being so harsh here! Once you get past the typo in the OP, the man talks sense.
It was a service offered by some card issuers. For an example, admittedly from 2004, click here.
I can't find information that suggests that it still exists but it's nowhere near as stupid a concept as people are making out. Someone I know used store card price protection a good few years to claim back.Do Something Amazing - Give Blood0 -

Oh now come on! This is getting silly now, ok if there is something that the credit card provider has in place i.e a "scheme" that is part of your account with them then ok, as long as it does not harm the business that you purchased the goods from, something like this would hurt the average SME business more so under the current financial climate.
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0 -
I took the mention of the credit card provider in the same sentence as claiming the difference, and the fact that this is the credit card forum to mean the OP was referring to involving Halifax.Do Something Amazing - Give Blood0

Most, if not all, retailers operate on a 28 day money back guarantee. So buying something for 200 quid one day and then seeing it for 100 the next can easily be worked around by giving your item back and then purchasing it for the lower price.0

And you will get laughed off by trying to claim the difference 6 months down the line unless there was a specific scheme in place that allows you to do this. Check with your credit provider.0
