Easy Jet Lost Luggage....HELP!!!

I think you will find that the maximum they will pay is based on the weight of the luggage not its value. See info provided by Heathrow http://www.heathrowinformation.co.uk/heathrow-airport-INF-lost-luggage.php
UBC Group needs to contact the number given to them when they reported the luggage lost0 -
spiro, I know that according to the rules they will pay only for kg, the main thing is to get any reimbursement after 21 days as now Easyjet workers say that they understand my frustration but can do nothing to help me. They promise to call, and don't call, they promise to find the bag, but don't find ect.
And their web-site don't have any contacts for claims. Customer Support told me that they can do nothing, but gave me again Lost&Found Department number where "all agents are busy" and the cost of call is 10p/minute.
That's why I ask if somebody knows the fax or e-mail to which I can send my claim and it will be read, please share this information with me.0 -
I have just returned from egypt after making the MISTAKE of flying with and trusting EasyJet with my luggage.
We travelled in a party of six on flight number ezy8853 on the 31st July to Sharm el Sheik. When we arrived one item of luggage was missing with all my clothes and my sons clothes as well as the usual toiletries and books, straightners etc that you entrust to the airline..and pay extra for the privilage!!
I was told that this is quite common and to go ahead to my hotel and that the case would be delivered the next day from England and that I would have to return to collect it from the airport as they do not do a delivery service so you the customer have to take time out of your expensive holiday to travel to the airport. I called the next day, again at my own expence to be told that the bag had not arrived and to try again the next day......this continued for the WHOLE 14 day holiday. On the third day I ws told to go ahead and buy things that i needed....ie: swimwear, lotions and actual clothes and that i would be reimbursed for them. On the fourth day I was told that they had found my luggage and to go to the airport to collect it...again guess what?? at my own expense of course!! When we got to the airport we spent an hour tryoing to find someone to help us as the guy in the information could not be bothered to help in anyway...remember we are in a Arab country here and we do not speak the language unfortunately!! Eventually a representative from EasyJet ground staff came out to see us and asked for the contents of my bag...information I had given on the first day but had not been written down of course...then i was told that the bag was not mine as it contained a tool box and babies nappies but hopefully they would find another day?? At this stage i was dreadfully upset, the whole first few days of our annual holiday had been ruined by the inept staff at EasyJet...how can you relax and go out for dinner when you only have the clothes you have travelled in and some hideous cheap looking, but expensive to buy in a foreign country dresses?
On the 15th August we travelled home one case lighter than when we arrived, today I called the secondary tracking service to be told that they had found my bag this morning at 7am and it would be delivered today....just called them and it will be tomorrow now as they are two busy as hundreds of bags to deliver.....a lucrative business for the courier company due to the cant be arsed attitude of EasyJet staff to have a system where they actually look for peoples luggage and endeavour to get it to them whilst they are actually still on holiday? I seem to recall Victoria Beckham losing an item of Luggage once and I believe it was found within hours for her?
I have now checked online and seen that I am able to claim up to £25 per day for up to three days (I am unsure what happens after three day?) for essentials needed...£25 would barely cover the coast of the bikini, what about the cabs to get to the shops?, the telephone usage from an English mobile phone? the internet usage to contact EasyJet Customer Service (pointless as they dont bother to reply) and most importantly our time that was meant to be spent enjoying ourselves with our children?
I think the moral of this story is DONT FLY EASYJET, THEY DONT CARE WHAT HAPPENS TO YOUR LUGGAGE BUT ARE QUICK TO TAKE YOUR CASH!!
If anyone can help me by sharing their experiences I would be grateful

I flew to Sharm el Sheikh with easyJet on the 14th June. My suitcase never arrived for the whole two weeks. I was told on my 12th day the case had arrived, but when I looked inside it was all mens stuff.
I had to buy underwear, clothes, bikinis, toiletries etc while I was over there plus taxis. Shopping in Egypt is stressful at the best of times.
I sent a claims form off to easyJet when I returned, including receipts for the items in my case totalling up to £1800, on top of the £400 I spent over there and a phone bill close to £500. EasyJet had the cheek to send me a £400 cheque today!
I will NEVER fly with this company again, so rude and unhelpful, and have caused me so much distress!!0 -
Did you have travel insurance?0
-
Yes but they said their maximum payout was £500 so I emailed easyJet to see what their maximum payout was, obviously got no reply so just sent the claims from off to them anyway, after reading that some people had got close to £1000 off easyJet.0

Did the airline not offer to deliver the bag out to you? that is the normal procedure, you should not have had to go and collect it0 -
This has got to be a record. Replying to an origional post that is nearly 4 years old:TThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

Hi there Mel, I know that it looks as though you posted this a long time ago but me and my faily had exactly the same problem at the same time it would seem. me and my family travelled to Sharm el Sheik in July/August 2011 and on the way back we lost out luggage. at this point we were stood waiting at Gatwick airport waiting for it to come through. it didnt... so we went straight to the help desk and someone very nice took our details and said that they would be in contact very soon (within 3 days) with more information. they didnt... still, 3 weeks down the line and a call to easyjet every day with no help and still no suitcase.
After weeks of trying to get the suitcase back (which contains scuba diving equipment) we never got it back and it took months to finally get easyjet to admit that they had lost it and would not be able to return our luggage to enable us to claim it off our insurance. we only got half the amount that our belongings were worht and it ruined the end of a brilliant holiday which we never actually talked about when we got home because we spend to whole time trying to get out stuff back.
I AGREE! EASYJET DO NOT CARE. DO NOT FLY WITH THEM!0
