Perhaps they're collecting stock and shifting it to the other stores that are still open. If they do have stock issues then that is certainly one way to resolve it.

Blyth store is now closed (northumberland) Apparently the staff in there got a phone call telling them to close up and go home ... oh and that they now had no job but would be paid til the end of the week

    Absolutely shocking behaviour :(

Not as bad as the time a few years ago when one of the stores on our district's managers went in in the morning to find an email saying not to open as they were now closed down and to tell the staff. No warning or anything came totally out of the blue and even the district manager didn't know anything about it! That was shocking behaviour, but having said that 99% of the time they were good employers.
  • went to newton abbott store yesturday and it was closed.went past it on saturday and only had the normal 50% off sale so guess this was a case of lock the door and leave.

Dunstable was on the list to go and was closed when I went to look yesterday. There was one person in there carrying out loads of black sacks so presumably they are moving stock to open stores, not that many in my area are staying open.
  • Adams in perry Barr Birmingham was still open yesterday but no bargins inside, just the normal over-priced rubbish.
