    Orange:
No Introduction offer (as far as I can tell)
    SIM for 50p
£10 topup gives 1000 texts and 1MB free
Bolt On gives £4/4mb so £1/MB

    O2:
£2.50 free topup and 5MB transfer free in the first month (worth £7.50)
    Free SIM
£10 topup gives 100 talktime or 300 texts and 1MB free
Bolt On gives £3/2mb so £1.50/MB

£10 top up on Orange gives 300 texts as well. It's £30 for 1000 texts.

Also Orange texts kick in the month after you top up whereas with O2 it's the next day. So if you miss a topup on either, O2 is much handier.

orange seem to have mucked up here coz they have 1 sim giving u 1000 free text for every £10 you top up and another that gives you 300 free text..

Andy when you phone to register you free SIM, they will offer you £12 worth of GPRS for use in the first 30 days.

This is probably 3 MB of data if they charge at pay as you use prices, but could well we more (upto 6 MB) if they use bundle charging.

If you want to, use the free GPRS for 30 days, use the £1 credit on the SIM to buy 1 day's unlimited GPRS usage. Then throw the SIM away and start with a new one.

Total cost 50p/month, or less when free SIM offers are available.

I hate this data monthly crap it should be unlimited. At one time gprs was free for well over a year, the amounts some networks charge is amazing. For example you might buy a new mobile obviously you want to download themes pics ringtones straight away. So you go to find a ringtone, obviously which is free. this may take you 20-30mins by that time when you leave wap your credits like down to 3p. Last year was the beat for GPRS free 24/7. I heard one network this year will be giving free wap 24/7, for quite a period. i'll have to wait n see.
If people cant help people on these threads, then they should rather not say anything then say something which isnt any use to the person who needs help
