One day at a time Cady and one step at a time, sometimes, I think you expect too much of yourself - have a huge hug!

We've all done it, spent more than we meant to. The important thing is, you know you've done it and are already taking steps to right the situation.

Look after yourself and the baby

I am sure once you have sat down and worked out the situation you will find the motivation to get things under control again. Just remember it is not the end of the world if you dont clear the whole debt before the baby is born.
I woud try and put yourself on a strict budget and any spare money you have can be thrown at the debts.
Not sure if i have already asked this, but have you ensured that you are getting all the benefits you are entitled to?
Also i know its some time off but make sure you get everything you are entitled to once the baby comes along - oh and look out on the freebies board for baby items etc...
Any place you can save money would be great to just be thrown straight at the debts.
Dont worry you will get through it!

    Thanks flower and Piq!!!!

its gereat to have the support here and after taking several deep breaths i feel a little better, me and OH are not entitled to anything Flower were both 23 and working full time even though were both on a low wage paying a mortgage were not entiltel to anything, when LO is born we will get family tax credits ect but cant even get a sure start grant or anything as were stupid and work for a living lol!!!! ive already signed up for loads of free baby stuff everywhere i can do and will be making a box im sure once we tell everone im expexting people will help out (yes i havnt told anyone yet!!!! eeek im 10 + 2 and gonna wait till after the scan!!) im gonna sit tomorrow and look at my outgoings and see where i can save and pay off more... ive started planning for birthdays and xmas already and will start filling up that present drawer again!!! my problem i have is because my wage is so low im left with very little each month only enought to cover min payments really im trying to cut down where i can but we both pay into the joint account for the bills and what is left is our own and OH has very little and already pays £100 more than me in. Sorry im rambling here but ive been here before i just need to start again, again lol OH suggested making a little list of things i want done before the baby is born ie have enough money put aside to tax the car for a year so were ok for a year and stuff like that and i might break my debt down into little monthly chunks or have monthly goals .... ill have a brain storm and see how i get on!!!!

Thanks for the support ill keep you posted!!!!

Bless your OH, at least he realises how important it is to you to get things sorted before the baby arrives.

Good idea regarding breaking the debt down. It can seem very overwelming (sp?) when you look at you total debt, but can seem more managable if you break it down and set yourself mini targets.

I know what you mean about low income, it can be so fustrating sometimes. My OH is working full time but on a low wage, whilst i finish studying at university - i am constantly thinking "if only we had an extra £50 a week coming in, things would be so much easier!".

Have you tried looking on the up your income board?

Keep us posted on how you are getting on! Good luck!

Thanks Flower i too spend too much time wondering "if only ......" i do survays and use quidco too for a bit extra i also am close to getting some vocuers using my clicks but its all slow progress TBH my car insurance is due in april so hopefully quidco will gert used for searches and buying the insurance through to make a bit extra i know it can be done im just moping around because i slipped up i suppose!!! im annoyed at the WTC thing as you have to be 25 and someone who works with me doing exacly the same job gets £90 a week WTC and they dont own a house or a car yet at 23 me and OH arent adult enough to get this it stresses me out too much as i feel like im being penelised (sp?) for working full time and paying for my own property i have plenty of "its not fair" moments too lol but i suppose everything i have i have earned which makes me feel better!!!

SNAP!! Its not fair at all. We are classed as being adults when we turn 18, yet we cant claim such things until we are 25  OH is nearly 24 and it fustrates me so much that we are not entitled to things like that because we are not 'adults'

i know hun its so frustrating!!!! but thats the government for you eh!!!

well today ive faced up to a few more things ive rang the halifax and told them that as i have recieved a letter off them saying it will take 4 weeks to look into my dispute about my charges that i will not have any contact with them other than in writing and i wont do anything until i hear from the complaints team, the lad was a bit startled TBH!!! LOL i got a letter from a DCA for the avon money which they have now made as £64 not £54 so have added a £10 charge on i spoke to them and they wanted £10 a week which is impossible really as i get paid monthly and i cant afford £40 a month to pay them so im a bit stuck ATM they advised ringing the CAB for some advice i offerd to pay them less but they wouldnt have it ive never dealt with this so im confused on what to do!!! i just dont have £40 a month to pay them but i suppose it may be a good thing and cause me to budget and pay this thing off ill have to sit and look at my money and sort it i think London may be cancelled ...... my friend will be really dissapointed too .....

Ill catch up properly later xxx

I'm really glad your OH is there for you Cady, at the very least there's a hug for you at the end of the day. I'm afraid I don't know much about benefits or the like, wish I could help you more.
