    Hi Cady,
Sorry to hear things arent great again. But on the bright side at least you have food and all the bills for the month are paid. Is there anyway you and your OH could get any extra hours at work or take on second evening job? Might help to bring a bit more money in.

Thats great news that you think you can get through the month.

I agree that taking thr savings is more important, you have got months until christmas yet, and although it is good you are trying to budget it for it it is more important that you are ok now

ok not much to report other than im skint!!!! using my savings to get through the month which sucks - i have however, recieved a letter from egg saying my 6 month 0% discounted rate is up as they put me on this as hardship to pay off the arrears but it means im going to start earing interest again and the monthly min payments will increase again - ive rang my phone bill up AGAIN!!! (when will i learn???) and ive applied for a basic account with natwest to use instead of my halifax one so not much to report - ive been pants with my NSD's too but im just so tired i cant find the energy to motivate myself !!! i have however batch cooked some chilli and have some soup for work too which is good.

    Have a nice day

    hi cady

just wanted to pop in with some friendly advice i had my first baby 9 months ago and my advise would be too everytime you go shopping get yourself a pack of baby wipes they often have them on at a £1 but sometimes not i find i go through loads of these (unless your planning on cotton woll and water) also if you havent alrealy get yourselves registered with pampers village you get £4.00 worth of vouchers and more throughout the year also huggies the same. Register with all the baby clubs tesco boots etc even now whilst your pregnant youll get stuff for you and then for baby. hipps loads of stuff and make sure you collect your bounty packs they are really worth it.

i too didnt get the 500 pounds maternity grant and not even the 190, we are in a similar situation to you not a great amount of deabt but not a great amount of money either x

    hope this helps

Does your baby have a Mum that will love it very much because that is all it does need. Don't start beating yourself up and feeling like you need to cry. Instead channel your emotions into the debt management. You really do not need a lot for the baby, you can have a mountain of clothes but I found my son wore the same vests and sleepsuits over and over. I never seemed to have the time to put them away after washing and drying. So they went from baby to washing machine, to clothes horse/tumble dryer and then back onto baby. I didn't put lo into proper clothes until he was 3 months old so his wardrobe was very limited as a baby. It still is. Almost all of his clothes are second hand from charity shops or nct sales.

It can be done and you will get out of the hole but sometimes it gets worse before better. It did for me. I personally would (and have done) is take back all those presents that you already have and get your money back. Christmas and birthdays are cancelled until you are out of debt and working again. I also personally do not like the sealed pots. When I worked in a pub I found people would always pay with notes just to get the change for their pots. I pay for everything with my debit card. If I want to buy something small then I normally buy it from Tesco and get a bit of my shopping at the same time.
I also have a running total of my bank account showing the future of what is coming out and in and when. This helps me juggle how much I can spend on food in week 1 of the month compared to week 3. I can send it to you if you would like to see it. Just pm me.

Edit: I see in an earlier post you mention your boyfriend paid £100 of 'our' debt with his money. Do you not combine finances as a couple. Now might be the time to do so. You have chosen to share your DNA now is the time to do a joint soa and tackle this head on together as a family.

Hi Cady, make yourself a cuppa or hot choccie and have a good weep.It might actually make you feel better!Don't be hard on yourself we all make stupid mistakes sometimes-especially with pregnancy brain, lol.
Please don't give up as after the initial buzz of spending, your feel even worse about things. How many weeks are you now?We were living in a 1 bedroom flat when we had dd,so we didn't have much space as well as no money,so I can understand how you are a bit down and green about all the beautiful baby things you could buy.To put it into context though, your little bean will not care if he has matching nursery furniture or a third hand cot (suggest a new mattress thou).He/she also won't notice that their clothes are not brand new from mothercare or next. What he/she will remember is that he/she felt safe and secure and most importantly loved. My dd spent her first x-mas playing with the wrapping paper and ignoring the pressies!
    Keep going hun x
