Ok I have a question for you. If you took a picture of the room you're sitting in at the moment, would you feel happy showing it to people?
Yes, because it's my bedroom that I've just dusted, Dysoned and sorted! Though there are no sheets etc. on the bed, the matress, duvet and pillows are clean!I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Gryfon - no I wouldn't which is why I'm sat in here! It's the room that always has the door shut if people come round! I am determined to sort it!!!Jonathan Douglas born 20th January 2009 - 9lb 4oz

HELLO EVERYONE!!!!!
:wave::hello::wave::hello::wave::hello: :wave::wave::hello::wave::hello::wave::hello: :wave:
I've given up trying to catch up!!!! I'm about a day behind, but I kept thinking, if I reply to this or that, everyone will have forgotten what I'm on about!!!
A couple of things stand out though...
Toots babes... I wasn't sure that your hosp visit sounded like good news???I hope everything's ok with you, and just so you know I'm sending 'tumour behave yourself' vibes to you!!! And big ((((hugs)))) to you!
Gryfon children.... they can be such a bl**dy nightmare!!! But to echo what everyone has said... you have to mean the threat. Your kids'll know if you're serious.... like when you meant it about lights off... no argument from them.
My favourite line to my girls is
"I'm sorry, how did you get the impression this is a democracy? This is a dictatorship.... mostly benevolent, but not always"
or
"this is not one child one vote"
The best pieces of advice I've ever had are :
1) you're not raising children, you're shaping adults.
2) they're not your friends. (hopefully that will come when they're much much older)
The thing that I notice most with my children is that when I'm being nice, they take the p*ss. It's not to say that I feel I've got to be foul and horrible to them, but keeping the boundaries firmly in place is a necessary tactic.
Where I fall down is that I tend to engage in too much debate. But everyone is happier with
"because I said so " as a response rather than a lengthy explanation!
Good luck with it all! It just sounds like you need to be firmer with them. (even if you don't want to be!!)

He spoke to his bank and they said someone overseas had cloned his card or something and he went overdrawn and now he has to pay the bank charges for going overdrawn even though its not his fault:mad: Its going to cost him nearly £200 in fees for bounced DD's and OD fees.
from my days of working for RBS fraud, the emphasis is on his bank to prove that he was overseas, if the bank are aware of the card being cloned then they will also be aware that it will not be the only card being used - normally these gangs clone 100+ cards (and yes they try them out first with very small amounts) nce they have a decent number then they blitz the cards to see what they can get.
Re charges & bounced DD's his bank should be re-embursing any fees/charges and arranging for manual DD payments to be made although it can take a few weeks for everything to filter through. Check with anwmum for whats up to date as Ihave been away for over 5 years but he should not have to pay fees/charges incurred through no fault of his own, PM me if his bank not playing ball as there are banking regulations re care of duty to customers in this situation.0 -
Question.. I have 3 extra girlies staying tonight.. DD1 + 2 friends (14/15) and DD2 + 1 friend (11)
#1... I have 2 large sofas in the front room the younger 2 can Zzzz on.. OR they can squeeze into a single bed.. OR I can put the 2 little ones in one single bed and let the friend sleep in their bed and have DD2 in her own bed... OR I can have DD2's friends sleep in DD1's bed which is in a room on its own... which do we think would be most appropriate??? (I'm stocking up on crisps, sweets, oven chips, pizza and pop...
The older girls will all crash in here on the sofa bed.. they've had 3 on it bedfore so they do fit.
#2 .. Would it be 'inappropriate' to escape to the pub? lol.. the older 2 girls are plenty old engouh to 'look after' the younger ones.. and I wouldn't think twice about heading to the shop and leaving them during the day.. but that somehow seems less problematic than leaving them at night for 3 hours... how would you feel if it was your 11 year old staying at mine and I sneaked off to the pub?? (I wouldn't mind but I think I'd like to know in advance.. but this family are Latvian so I don't unsure as to what is acceptable) Though.. I may go out with my mother and leave hubby home with them and he can go play with his weights and have a shower and slob in bed watching rubbish...LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Liberty9515 Happy Birthday and try using a damp duster!! It stops the dust being moved around inc up your nose.
g&b this happened to my DP, he didn't have any insurance/protection but Barclays refunded it all.....
Mudbath Happy Birthday for your DS, I hope he has a lovely day! My baby is 8 later this month too
soappie I find it too scary now doing grocery comparisons, I have a little price book with some left in from last year, sweetcorn (large tin) was 19p, it's now 39p!
toots thanks for asking, told you don't worry I get these flare ups a lot
I like my GP a lot, she always listens, is really nice aswell. Anyway she has refered me to the Musculo-skeletal Clinic for a full assessment, she said they can refer to neuros, for scans etc as necessary so believes it's the best people to refer me to. As she said I have had these issues since I was a child, just the flare ups that change with the back but I do have constant pain which then just increases in severity. The nerve thing in my legs is something different entirely, I don't think it's related to the leg spasms and neither does the GP, think this is all back related.
Argh I have snapped my grabber, the thing I use to get stuff off the floor etc, will need to look on ebay for a new one. Going to keep plodding on this afternoon, got a wheat bag I might use for a little while see if I can get things to ease off a bit.One day I might be more organised...........
