Don't let her sit on that sofa.

Is she sitting there watching tv and 'forgetting' to go? in which case tv off every 30 minutes for peepee break.

Get a waterproof bedsheet and tuck it over with a throw on top?

Little girl wee shouldn't be that strong she should maybe drink more??

As for the smell.. leave it to dry.. it will be deep in the foam so will take a few days and probably won't smell then. I poured a large amount of dettox on mine when I had a wee-er.. it soaked in as much as the wee and washed some out and neutralised some and it was barely noticable once it dried.

this thread on removing urine from a mattress should help as may stinky sofa or cleaning my sofa

Cleaning up potty training may have ideas even thought it's an older thread. Oh, it may sound odd, but cleaning up cat pee will have good odour neutralising ideas as well.

    Ill merge this later on

You could alternatively ask for advice on the families board on how to deal with the behavioural side of it :)

Let us know what works and we will merge this later

Edit - Pink, am i missing a link here?

May be of help but Jo Frost who did the successful Super Nanny channel 4 programme about problem children has her own web page and forum area. I have put the link here for you to go to and see if you can get any advice there.

Gailey is there anything she really values, and would be upset if it were taken away? If so the next time she wees on the sofa (or anywhere inappropriate) I would take that thing away from her and say it will be returned when she hasn't wee'd there for a week. Then be strong and do not give it back to her, no matter how upset she gets, until that has happened.

I don't know if this product has ever been mentioned on here before but Fullers Earth is almost the universal absorbant, for instance I've used it to remove spilt black Quink from a beige carpet before, find it is another matter! I get mine from an Army Surplus store where it is in little bottles and used to clean up nerve gas (True).

To use it make into a thin paste and liberally scrub it into the fabric, then leave it till it is totally dry and Hoover off. It will look as though you have wrecked the chair but it comes out very easily. Look on Google loads of info about it.

    Hope this helps.

You can usually get it from the chemist.

Sprinkling with bicarb may help - and could you get it out in the sunshine for a while?
