Jimmo, you posted your message as I was typing mine. I think that the things in themselves may seem trival but IMO added together it does not make the company not very professional. I think you have hit the nail on the head, the 'relationship' is no longer working.
40 years ago there was probably not a large queue as every tom, !!!!!! and harry was buying things from the petrol station.
I think the fact that OP made such a mistake highlights how nervous she is probably feeling.0 -
dd has her test next week, her instuctor asked her if she would have a lesson on a particular day as he has being examined himself as an instuctor. It might be worth finding out what body actually does this as he certainly doesn't sound like hes a competent instuctor to me. then put in a complaint against him or he'll continue to take peoples money just to bully them!
It is the DSA ( Driving Standards Agency ).
However it would be difficult to substantiate a complaint of this nature, as it would be a " he said this ".. " she said that " scenario.0 -
I had 6 instructors before I found one who I clicked with, so definitely don't worry about asking to change to a different instructor.0

Hi all
Got good news. I have called up and he is going to find my instructor and see what he is playing at. I said he is taking the p**s out of my basically and told him everything my instructor has done. Hes got my mobile number and asked where i live so he can try find someone else. And he told me not to worry because i was crying because i feel like a fool to be honest for paying him for lessons for so long. Thanks all very much ! Ive finally called up. Now its down to them to sort it out ! xxProud mummy to 3 beautiful children who I love so so much :oxxxx

Please, please make sure you change instructors asap.
My instructor was very negative. I used to dread my lessons everyweek, hoping she would cancel. She never used to praise me, always found something to have a go at me for. When I went in for my test I never considered passing, it was only when I was half way round that I thought I could actually pass. I enjoyed my test more than the lessons. The examiner was lovely and chatty and it made such a difference. I did pass, first time, so obviously she was doing something right. However, it took almost a year for me to start driving alone once I had passed my test because I had no confidence at all. I was paying out for a car, tax and insurance and I just dare not use the car!
A good instructor makes all the difference!0 -
You must have posted as I was replying!
Good for you for getting it sorted! Hope you have more luck with the next one.0 -
Just like everyone else I'd say try another instructor...
Before I had lessons I had a decent idea how to drive a car and had been given a bit of tuition around our yard. I'd like to think I wasn't an arrogant so and so because of it though.
First lesson I was fairly confident... however the instructor soon destroyed that and found everything he possibly could to have a go at and almost seemd to be gloating every time I got something wrong. I managed one more lesson before telling him that I was going away for a bit and would contact him if I wanted more lessons.
Anyway, it was 9 months before I got back in a car with a different instructor. He was a one man band and we got on brilliantly as we had loads in common... the lessons involved talking about football and music more than driving. 11 lessons later I passed first time.0 -
Glad you're getting it sorted now. You don't need an instructor that makes you nervous, you need one that gives you confidence. I had a lovely instructor - he praised me up and didn't make me feel like a fool if I made a mistake.
I remember during my first lesson, after a short spell in the country he asked if i'd ever driven in town. I said no, and i'm not ready. He said of course I was, and we went. He said not to worry as he had dual control and he wouldn't let anything happen to me. You need someone to encourage you.0 -
Thanks very much for your lovely replies and vote of confidence. My new instructors wife called me earlier. And im very excited ! I Cant wait. She said he will have a word with me to see what i know and what i dont. So looks promising hopefully he will be nice :T xProud mummy to 3 beautiful children who I love so so much :oxxxx

I think you need a change of instructor - as some one who's only ben driving a year, i went through 3 insutructors before going for my test.
The first smoked during lessons was agressive towards other driver and turned up late.
The second did a runner with my money i'd pre book a block of 10.
The third was brilliant instructor was paitent, always on time lessons use to run over sometimes but he didn't mind and i passes with him because i felt confident with him.
have you tried www.2pass.co.uk for advie and info?
