Well done Pink. It is amazing when you start thinking about it most of the day to day spends are not essential. All we need is food and possibly transport everything else is surplus to requirements. Obviously if you have lots of money then that is fine, spend as you wish but I would rather have no debt or a nice holiday than a fancy fews cups of coffee every week or buy my lunch everyday.

Anyway I had to break into my budget this week. I spent £1 on a leaving collection at work which is better than normal (usually I put in £2 or £3) but still annoyed me as I was hoping for a NSD after taking in my lunch and everything

Oh well roll on tomorrow's NSD

Ooh, good plan, I might do that as well :D

I am only going to have half of my budget with me today anyway as t'other half is going to the Post Office for me to send off my Amazon parcels, so I had to give him a tenner to make sure I could pay for the postage and get exact change for my budget :rotfl:

ooooh that is a good idea I might only carry half my budget with me and no cards then even if I spend I won't go crazy and I will still have at least half left.

I will see how the rest of this week goes and I might attempt that next week if I have no self-control this week and go over again.

So, I have spent quite a bit of my budget today :rotfl:

    Time for confession:

90p 2 packets of chewing gum (Since I gave up smoking I like to have chewing gum on hand so I now have one in my work drawer and one in my handbag)

45p Copy of the Daily Mail (I feel dirty even buying that rag) Bought as it had a money off voucher in it I will use when I go out for dinner with my pals after payday.

£4.37 (!!) on postage for my Amazon items.

£6.02 in Asda. Bought value range bread, digestives and yoghurt, but needed ham for sandwiches and apples too. Also bought some "posh" yoghurt as well in case the value stuff was rubbish :rotfl:as I haven't tried it before!

    Total spend = £11.74

I have £2.26 in change in my purse as well - not £1 coins but change, so this is off to my Sealed Pot, as I have a rule that anything under £1 goes in the pot. So, with that in mind, I have £6 left to last until Friday

Love the title to your post made me giggle as I often feel like that, things go so well but can be dashed so quickly.

Oh well at least you have money left and that is £1.50 a day until Friday I am sure you can do it. Keep the positive vibes going.

Ho hum, I've used up the majority of my budget today:

£4.99 - bottle of wine (I needed it after shopping) (a non essential)
    £5 - petrol (essential)
    £3.68 - toiletries (essential)

    Total = £13.67

    Amount left = £6.33

There's nothing else I need to buy this week though, so I'll see how it goes.
    Looking forward to the future.
  • Can I be a late entry please?

£180 for me. Sounds like alot but I had the plumber in today and I'm taking the old man and 6 of our children (combined family) down South to my uncles 65th birthday party this weekend. Hotel and Breakfast are paid for so everything else is incidental.

So thats £180 to start with then:
£25 to plumber (but the pipes are still playing a trombone!)
    £24.73 Groceries
    66p amazon postage

So that's £129.61 left, half a tank of petrol to get me to work all week so I'll need to fill up for the trip (a full tank or near enough - £60) plus food and drink while we're away plus, rather than a birthday present, Uncle wants a donation to the hospice that looked after Auntie so that will need to be costed in. Hmmmm, could be cutting it fine on £180!

  • £1.94 for me for the last two days, cant see me needing to spend anymore money today. A little annoyed with myself as brought a packet of crisps for 50p at work which I really didnt need at all. Need to get stricter with myself but feel so awful now with myself dont think I will do it again. Making sure I have not other money in my purse apart from my allowance so I cant spend what I dont have.
