Yippee!!! my le saucier has arrived this morning - a lovely blue one from Tefal - am soooo excited. Has anyone been experimenting with theirs and got some recipes. Think I'll try the chocolate mousse and the brownies this weekend, though not certain how to explain to my hubby that I have a new gadget!!!

Where did you get it from AlwaysHappy? I thought Le Sauciers were currently unavailable in this country?
(A few years ago they were on offer in Good Food magazine for £45 but at the time I couldn't afford it and I have regretted not getting one ever since)

I phoned Tefal and they had loads in stock - it cost me £79.99 but a 2nd hand one went for more than that on ebay last week and on amazon they are £100. I have arthritis in my shoulder so kind of justified it that way as I physically can't stir for more than 30 seconds without my shoulder coming out of its socket, but now am wanting help on using it.

my mum brought one back from France for me over a decade ago and it gets used very regularly - makes great lemon/orange/cranberry curd so easily - any recipe will do. Great for keeping gravy/sauces warm without overcooking or cooling and getting a skin. Makes great real egg custard, or is good to use if you want cold powder-custard without a skin - make it in the microwave as usual and put in the saucier with no heat and leave it on until the custard cools.

I saw one of these in Lakeland in Chester on Sat. in their reduced section for £19.99. If its still there it would be a bargain for someone! I couldn't think of one thing I would use it for, hope this helps if your looking for one.

I think the way to get one now seems to be to phone Tefal (not look on their website where they aren't mentioned) because they seem to have them when Lakeland seem not to any more. I even looked on tefal's French website (they're called SEB in France, but no mention of them there either.) Well done Alwayshappy. A Saucier isn't for everyone, but if you love them (like I do) you love them ! Now I have managed to track down what seemed to be the Bicester Lakeland's last ever one, my old one (many years old now) which was on its last legs has become remarkably perky again - it obviously knows it might get replaced and has resolved to behave !!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

If anyone is still looking for a UK supplier for one of these then try

    http://www.homeandcook.co.uk/

Home & Cook on-line is the exclusive web-store from Groupe SEB UK Ltd, the owners of Home & Cook & famous household brand names, Tefal, Rowenta, Moulinex & Krups. Groupe SEB, the world leader in Small Domestic Appliances

    Hope this helps someone

Edited to add that postage is cheaper than buying from Tefal customer services direct (and they are out of stock anyway) and is free if you spend more than £100

    Hi

I've just bought one of these - it's noisier than I thought it would be so could someone please tell me if they are supposed to be very quiet or is mine normal? and should the stirer (sp?) click when you turn it clockwise on the spindle because mine doesn't - there seems to be some play in it and it wobbles slightly as it turns (but for all I know that is normal) and (finally! :o phew) should the display be very bright because mine is quite dim. Seems to work OK - I've just made some milky cocoa and some scrambled egg to try it out (though there was a slight coating of egg on the bottom of the pan), but just need confirmation that all is normal!

    Thanks for any help

Anyone please? I'm dying to relax and know if this is normal?
