Pizzas are dead easy to make you know.. if you're buying yeast and flour for bread making you could totally make up a batch of mini pizzas too?
6oz plain flour, 1 tsp yeast, 1 tsp (caster if you have it) sugar, 1 tsp salt, 1 tablespoon oil, 120ml of hand hot water, can of cheap chopped tomatoes (or tomato puree if you don't have canned tomatoes in but puree is probably more expensive), optional onion, cheese -
sieve flour, yeast, sugar and salt into a big bowl, add the oil and water. Mix together starting with a spoon and finishing with your hands to make dough. Then kneed on the worktop for 3 mins (or until nice and shiny and elastic). Cover in the bowl and leave to rise in a warm place for about an hour until it has doubled in size. Bring it out of the bowl and kneed again for a few mins and shape either into a big pizza (fills a whole baking sheet from my experience) or lots of mini pizzas, thin based. Either put on tomato puree, or a can of tomatoes that you've reduced on the hob with the optional onion chopped up and sauted, then put on any toppings and then the cheese. If you're feeling extravagant, season and then drizzle with a little olive oil. Bake at 230 degrees, it takes about 10-15 mins to do the big pizza, or a bit less for the little ones.0 -
Yeast has been mentioned quite a few times, where can I get dried yeast from? A normal supermarket? Is it with the bread?Debts May 09 [strike]£100 Od[/strike], [strike]£1550 boiler[/strike], [strike]£1750[/strike] £400 credit card  Goal - to 3k of savings by Oct 2009 in time for Baby num 2 :j Total so far £12000

Usually I find it in the home baking section. I use yeast from tesco - I think its called easy blend dried yeast? It's in a little green box and costs around the 50p mark for I think 8 sachets (each is the equivalent to about a tsp) - theres probably much cheaper yeast out there but I've always just stuck with the ones I know works!0

When I make pizza bases I make a double batch, I part cook them, then I freeze half of the bases. This saves a bit of time the next time we have pizza.0

I make my own home made pizzas really cheaply by buying cheap or reduced bread rolls. I cut them in half, top them with tinned chopped tomatoes (blend them to smooth) and grated cheese. Cook them in the oven about 7-10 minutes an hey presto
PRICE...
12 pack sainsburys rolls 28p
tinned tomatoes 12p
bag of grated cheese 99p (Or use WYH)
so 24 small pizzas for £1.39
If you managed to get reduced rolls and use your own cheese it can be cheaper.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Wow Jembie, where do you get tinned tomatoes for 12p?0

Hi Yorkshirechick
Just to add to the dog food question, I feed my fully grown doberman on Wagg dry dog food which costs around £9.00 a bag from Asda, Sainsbury's & Pets at Home.
It comes in Beef or chicken flavour. My dobe is in fantastic condition and it seems to suit him far better than any of the other feeds he has been on including Eukanuba, James Wellbeloved & Burns.
As it is sold in most supermarkets it saves fuel as well!
My dobe has around 550-600g a day and it lasts!

For some reason I can't space this out properly without typing it all out, and I'm not doing that!
It's supposed to show breakfast, lunch and dinner for each day. On the days it shows work instead of breakfast, it's because we get toast at work for 15p a slice. I know we could have it at home, but we start work at 7:30, so if we ate breakfast before that we would be very hungry by lunch time.
I thought I could make some kind of muffins or something though to take for breakfast some days...
The days when there are blanks is simply because I've run out of inspirationDebts May 09 [strike]£100 Od[/strike], [strike]£1550 boiler[/strike], [strike]£1750[/strike] £400 credit card  Goal - to 3k of savings by Oct 2009 in time for Baby num 2 :j Total so far £12000
