You know, I here a lot of people go on about this 'evil' realplayer. But in all honesty its a pretty good media player and I personally dont mind if they take note of what I listen to or look at. Who cares! Plus you can switch off its 'ad' part anyways
To it's credit, a few years ago when I had a Sony MP3 Walkman it was able to sync with my PC where the official Sony software wasn't even able to install.0 -
I have used AVG (free download) for several years now and found it very good when used in conjunction with the Windows Firewall.
How do you KNOW its 'very good'?
generally speaking, a good anti virus will find and stop nasties. If it HASNT found any, then theres either none there (Unlikely over a period of years), or its missed them (Which AVG is notorious for):idea:0 -
Thanks aliEnRIK. So if I go for Kaspersky do I need to get the Anti Virus pack or the Internet Security?0
-
Thats really down to you Piran
Either get the full package.
or
AV and add any free programs you might want
I dont know the cost of either for starters:idea:0 -
Kapersky is a lot cheaper on Amazon than it is buying direct from them.
Kapersky Internet Security 2009, 1 year 1 PC subscription - £39.99 from Kapersky
Kapersky Antivirus 2009, 1 year 1 PC subscription - £29.99 from Kapersky
Kapersky Internet Security 2009, 1 year 3 PC subscription - £18.99 from Amazon
Kapersky Antivirus 2009, 1 year 3 PC subscription - £19.56 from Amazon
At those prices, I don't really see why people bother with the free ones, but whatever.0 -
They generally don't do as well as the paid for ones though. I guess it's a balancing act between how much you want to spend and how much your data is worth to you.0

Id wager that using PCTOOLS FIREWALL, AVAST, MALWAREBYTES,SANDBOXIE and FIREFOX with the NOSCRIPT plugin is safer than any paid for suite (In fact its probably overkill with using 'sandboxie', but its all free never the less.):idea:0
-
But is PC Tools firewall, Avast, Malwarebytes, Sandboxie, and NoScript better than PC Tools firewall, Kapersky, Malwarebytes, Sandboxie, and NoScript?0
