Recommend me an Equities ISA please

Hi,

I have £1000 to invest in a fund. I'm having trouble finding someone who will open me a new ISA wrapper and sell me the fund. I have tried so far:

Hargreaves Lansdown (min £3k investment)
Thisismoney SFS (doesn't sell the fund I wanted)
The Share Centre (charges 1% dealing commission)
Fidelity (doesn't sell the fund I want)

Any recommendations please?

Thanks

HL is a minimum of £1,000 according to when I try to place a deal

The Share Centre (charges 1% dealing commission)

Doesn't sound that much on £1000. £10 is a standard dealing charge on shares.

What is the investment vehicle? Is it an ETF, unit trust, etc? Fund houses might offer their own ISA.

I think that's the top-up requirement for existing subscribers.
  • Yes - HL is deffo £3K min for a new ISA. 1% commission is steep by Fund Supermarket standards, which usually waive this I think.

Investment is M&G UK All Share Tracker (acc).

    Any suggestions?

Make a lump sum payment initially from as little as £500 (or £100 top up) up to the value of £7,200 in an ISA per tax year via a Switch/Maestro or Delta debit card.

Have a look at Alliance Trust. Might be suitable for you.

They use Cofunds so a good choice of funds. Don't see a minimum fund size mentioned.

    See here too.

Alliance Trust look good, I have just opened an account with them, but they charge a set charge £12.50 per transaction, not a percentage.
For a deal of £1000 a time this comes to more than 1% so that may be less competitive. I would only use them to invest more than that.
Also they only offer a small number of fund companies on their online fund supermarket.

Thanks Jon but this only permits investment in M&G funds. I intend to buy other funds in the future (sorry I should have made this clear from the beginning)

Ray, Alliance Trust have flat fee dealing charge of £12.50 which would be good for some but bad for a very small investor like me. Many thanks for the suggestion though.

I'm hard to please I know :o Sorry. Perhaps I'm just going to have to compromise somewhere...

Well - it can get you started. You can always transfer you ISA later and, with the extra funds to invest, will have more options.
