If you want MSE things to do, then here goes:- Princes Street Gardens are really nice to wander through and free too
- Botanic Gardens, also nice but I don't know if they charge
- Walk up Arthurs Seat (Big hilly thing in the middle of Edinburgh) - take some bread to feed the ducks and swans
- Museum of Childhood on the Royal Mile is free and there is a fudge shop just down the hill which has free samples of yumminess
- Spend the money and do a ghost tour - I have heard good things about Mary Kings Close. You can pick these up on the Royal Mile.
- A bus tour will give you a good overview of the city, but I don't know how much they are
- I have friends who have been to the Edinburgh Dungeon and say it's not worth the money, so avoid that
- Use The Oracle website to find out what's on during the time you're up
- The Castle is fantastic, but I think it's about £10 each now
- Have strawberry martinis at Biblos on the corner of Chambers St (£6 a pop but worth every penny)

[Strike]That is[/Strike]grammar correction! Those are some great MSE ideas!! Thanks a lot. Really fab
Especially like the sound of a strawberry martini... I may have to budge that in... And free fudge!
Just checked, and Edinburgh castle is £12:eek::eek: Think OH will like to go though  Better budget for that!0 -

I will have a think and see what else is available. When I went to London last year there were all sorts of offers on in regards to bus tours etc. If you don't know the bus system (And the town is being dug up a lot at the moment for the impending implementation of an unwanted tram system) then it might be the way to go. To be honest though, if you're staying centrally most things are walkable.0 -
