Hahaha I save up for those core sundaes whenever I go to the cinema I luuuuurve them! They went through a phase at our local of never having any whipped cream but still charging the same price so I moaned and got an extra scoop of ice cream on top lol! I regretted it afterwards when I felt sick though...

I went to see my bloody valentine in 3D and it was ok (special effect wise, not plotwise!) but I def don't think they can justify charging that much more for it. It wasn't that much better!

Normally I would just think "sod it" about the sundae, but it put me something like 27p over budget for the Weekly Spend Challenge and I'm marked red again :rotfl: I think I've only had one green week. It was totally worth it though :D

The 3D was fab, but I think you really need a good film to go with it and I'm getting quite fed up of being charged extra (In theory, at the moment it's still fantastically free) to see a shiny film with no fricking plot. Monsters vs Aliens was totally forgettable. Bolt was good, but the 3D wasn't as good as MvsA. Annoying...

I'm really looking forward to Coraline coming out as it's an adaptation of a Neil Gaiman book (The man is a genius - I met him at a signing last year which was exciting but not as exciting as meeting Terry Pratchett which was like meeting God. /fangirl) and looks amazing. Every time the trailer comes on in the cinema my friend laughs at me because I get all excited about it :rotfl:I can't remember the release date for it though.

Awww love Terry Pratchett! I have signed copies of Mort (nicked off me dad :rotfl:) and Making Money which I daren't read in case I wreck them!
I liked the story Coraline but I'm not a fan of animated type films - they irritate me (yep even Shrek!) but I may have to put my predjudice aside for this one.
I liked Stardust too and the film of that was ok, not animated though.

Hmm 27p over - the scrapings left round the sides of the tub could constitute 27p's worth of icecream take it off your total and turn yourself green lol

At the same time I got t'other half a book (I think it was Making Money too!) that reads thusly:

To: **Mr Fresian** (He prefers to be anonymous on t'interpeeps!)

    Happy Hogswatch!

    Terry Pratchett

I think that is quite possibly the best thing that Mr Pratchett (Isn't he Sir Pratchett now?) could write in a book to you!

Although my Neil Gaiman book is the Graveyard Book which he did a tour for recently and he signed it and drew a gravestone beside the inscription which he put my name in. **squee**

Oh, and Stardust was partly filmed in Skye (where I was on holiday recently) and one of my friends did some grunt work for it - carrying heavy things for pampered Hollywood types and the like - he still talks fondly about the day Michelle Pfeiffffffffer smiled at him. I have no idea how to spell her name.

I really must go to bed now, I'm doing overtime in the morning but need to get up a little earlier to put my food in the slow cooker. I am converted!

    Hellooooo!

Quick post from me before I go and do overtime at work (Urgh!)

The £9.12 came from Amazon, I logged into my account as I haven't had any correspondance from them about orders being refunded or anything, and it turns out I sold a DVD box set a week ago and they didn't tell me anything about it. I don't know why that would be at all. I had nothing to say "Item sold" and nothing to say payment was on its way.

I had to send a grovelling email to the buyer this morning and pray they don't ask for a refund. So it's off to the Post Office after work. !!!!!!.

Just about to go for a shower, but first I need to brown the meat for the stew I'm attempting in the slow cooker. Yum yum!

Will be on later, have a lovely Saturday, especially if you're working :D

Morning all from Sunny Scotland (And it really is sunny for once!)

I am just about to head in the shower but first I need to put my dinner in the slow cooker and put some washing on so I can take advantage of the good weather with some nice line-dried clothes :D

I had a good MSE day yesterday despite buying lots of things :rotfl: I went into town to buy stuff for t'other halfs birthday as he annoyingly doesn't really want anything. Although I have about £170 saved for him, he doesn't want to spend it as he knows we're skint (Of all the times for my MSE ways to sink in!) So I went out and bought him some birthday presents (One reduced from £50 to £18, yay me!) I got stuff from Boots for me for 90p real money as I had vouchers, and also got M&S food free thanks to vouchers again. Their reductions are really good if you get there at the right time!

I have taken a massive hunk of lamb out of the freezer for dinner tonight (Already defrosted now) and will make some kind of casserole with the leftover cooked meat.

Right, better get ready for work I suppose.

    Hope you are all ok.

    Hi all :D

"Tell me why I don't like Mondays", demanded the Boomtown Rats. "Because they're sh*t", quoth the Fresian.

Still, tomorrow is another day I suppose. Essentially, all is well outside of work, but work is poo and I really wish I had another job somewhere else. It will all be fine.

On to happier, more MSE things! I have had my first NSD in what seems like flipping ages. I have given up on the April challenge. I think I have actually made it to my target of 12, but I keep forgetting to count them. The Weekly Spend Challenge is keeping me on track - thanks pointypenguin - anyway so I think I'm done with the NSDs.

Dinner tonight was another Adventure In Slow Cooking, which was Lump O'Lamb, and very tasty it was too! The labels my dad put on the meat when he put it in the freezer have all fallen off now, so I will be having a lot of Lump O'Lamb surprise in the coming weeks :rotfl: I had it with the Parmentier Potatoes from M&S that I got with my Dine In For A Tenner last night and me and t'other half even tried to make gravy. We failed (It's gravy, Jim, but not as we know it) but it was fun trying :D Pudding was the rest of the strawberries and cream I bought in M&S which were vastly reduced and which were lovely. Ernie-cat was happy to be in the kitchen as I was thinking of throwing out the last of the cream, and he was very happy to finish it off

Tomorrow I will be throwing the leftover lamb in the slow cooker with some veg and stock and making a kind of stewy thing. Essentially I'm not going to throw out the small amount of lamb going spare, but there really isn't much there so I will be bulking it out like crazy with veg. Does anyone know if I put frozen veg in if it would cook ok???

Anyway, I made some commitments on the Flylady thread that I have come nowhere near attempting :D so I'm going to go and at least take the bins out.

Hope all is well with you People Of The Internet :D

Frozen veg will be fine with the lamb.......we use bulgar wheat a lot for padding out stuff too - it works really well with spag bol and chili con carne.

As for NSDs.....I am stuck on just the one for April......must try harder :o

Boo hiss, here come the debts

Barclaycard - started at £1131.90 Balance at 22/03/2009 is £650!

Overdraft - at its worst £1007 Balance now is ZERO!! It's totally paid off
    yahoo.gif

Personal Loan - was £6973.73 Balance at 22/03/2009 is £6742.21!

    Plans for next month

    • I want to bring my total payments made to debt to over £2,000.
    • Barclaycard under £500
    • Add at least another £100 to the Emergency Fund
These are quie hard targets as the Council Tax payments will have started up again, but it is Bonus Month and if I don't use my treats money it's going to PAD.
    Hello!

I get paid on Thursday so here's my update figures!

Quote above is where I stood last month and what my plans were for this month. Read on for a wee update:

Boo hiss, here come the debts

Barclaycard - started at £1131.90 Balance at 22/03/2009 is £650! Balance at 22/04/2009 will be £170. OH YEAH!!!
    yahoo.gifyahoo.gifyahoo.gifyahoo.gif

Overdraft - at its worst £1007 Balance now is ZERO!! It's totally paid off
yahoo.gifIt's still paid off, so I'm keeping my happy dance yahoo.gif

Personal Loan - was £6973.73 Balance at 22/03/2009 is £6742.21! Balance at 22/03/2009 is £6,650.98 Slowly but surely the b*gger is reducing!

So, today I am in debt by £6,820.98 down from an original figure of £9,052.63! My plans from last month have been achieved as my Barclaycard balance is under £500 (Oh yeah, and then some!) and I have added another £100 to the emergency fund. I have also paid off over £2,000 in total:-

Since having my LBM on 28th November 2008, I have paid off £2,231.65!!!

I love this forum, and the people on it for their kindness, their inspiration and most of all their smiling in the face of all the poo that comes our way. Woo to MSE :T

Also, I now have £350 in a "Keep your paws off it" fund which I can't withdraw from and another £8 (Woo!) in instant access savings. I'm going to build the instant access up to £500 in the next few months and everything else will go into the Don't Touch money so I can't spend it and will only use it when the time finally comes to clear the loan. I'm really looking forward to that day!

    Hope y'all are well.

I think this is the biggest update I've done in months :D
