Hi I couldn't let this one pass. Well done on the smoking, so now you have another challenge. So can you park a few streets away from work, so that you are walking a bit every day? I bet you can get back into those clothes in a month of two.

    good luck

In true MSE style I have no car! I will aim to leave the house earlier so that I can get off the bus earlier and walk an extra little bit before work. The trouble with me though is that I fart around so much in the morning I'm normally running to get in for 9am :rotfl:

I did go to Asda instead of the corner shop for my bread etc today - 15 minutes uphill to get there, ten minutes downhill to get back, and have told t'other half that I will be doing that from now on, so he's not to let me be lazy and go to the corner shop :D

    Evening all!

I have done most of the things I put on my list from this morning (I didn't list anything on Amazon today and I haven't done any opinions on Toluna, although I did do some sponsored polls)

I have also added up the PAD thread (£800+ and I did that at 10pm, that thread is the most amazing and inspirational one on here) and sorted out lunches for the next couple of days. I have spent £14 of my £20 weekly budget today (I'm doing the weekly spend challenge) which is a little scary, but it works out as £1.50 per day until Friday, so should be do-able.

I am knackered and am about to head to bed - t'other half has demanded that I read his Watchmen graphic novel so I'm making a start on that tonight. I have recently tidied out one of my bookshelves (Many more to go!) and have found 7 books that I have bought and not read. My new challenge to myself is not to buy another book until these are read.

I don't know how long it will last but it seems to be that if I post a challenge to myself on here then I feel as though I have to see it through, and it has worked well with my daily tasks and my spending, so why the heck not with my horrible book addiction!

For those who asked about Amazon vs Green Metropolis (and how much does that sound like a superhero battle?!) I like the idea of Green Metropolis but haven't used it. Here's how I sell my Amazon books:

    • Any books that I have which I would class as New/Used As New/Used Very Good I will list on Amazon
    • I check if they are selling for a reasonable price (over 50p for light books, over £1 for heavy ones)
    • If they are selling for less than this they go in the charity shops pile
    • If they are selling for more I list them
    • You get quite a lot of space for an Amazon description so I include, the exact condition (I include if it has been read, any creasing to the spine, any turned over pages) when I will send it (Next working day for payment being received as my Post Office is quite close to my house and is open till 8pm) and how much time to allow for delivery. I tell people to allow 5-7 days as I send all items 2nd class
Try and see how you get on. Some books are really popular and only go for 1p, and I don't bother with these, as by the time you post them and Amazon take their cut you are left with pennies. I would rather give to charity personally.

Ok, I only meant to do a quick update, not a Book Selling Class :rotfl:so I'm off to bed. I'm sleepy but want to read some of Watchmen before bed.

    Night night all :D

    Good morning lovely people

    • Check OnePoll
    • Do Toluna opinions/polls
    • Breakfast at home
    • Take lunch & flask with me to work - I have homemade bolognaise to eat, some leftover soup and some value yoghurts. It will be a feast at work today :rotfl:
    • Make dinner at home from leftovers
    • [strike]Washing at 30 degrees[/strike]
    • Do 2 hours overtime at work - that's why I'm posting so early, need to try and do some overtime before work and some after!
    • Play around with BingoPort and try and figure out how it works!
    • Use up some more of the free iTunes I have sitting in my account

  • Nice to see more progress. I am not missing work at the minute (on maternity leave) or extra hours LOL. Have fun with the overtime; still very helpful for debt-busting :)

hi well done on keeping your overdraft stable this month, it feels like such a major achievement doesn't it, knowing that you've lived within your means.
You are making loads of progress and i enjoy reading as it gives me the incentive to keep my head down and continue tackling my debt.

Hiya! Well done on even more moneysaving! You are too good haha. Well done on doing the payment a day thing, I was thinking about trying it but then I thought well, if I do that I'm bound to go mad at the start of the month and then end up with nothing left at the end - and have to use the cards to pay for ordinary things again! Same with the No Spend Day thing too, I give myself pocket money so I could quite easily have only 5/4 days when I spend each month - I would just spend lots on those days haha.
The amazon thing is useful as I have some books and stuff I might try and get rid of - torn between that or just doing a car boot when it gets a bit warmer. I love car boots lol xx
Ths signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it... :o

    Hello!

What I would say about the PAD thread is that if you pledge to yourself to make a payment of say £1 a day it really adds up. I find myself trying to make extra cash to make more PADs :rotfl: Once you start it becomes really addictive...

    Good morning,

Do you know what, I was really tired yesterday too. Do you think it's because of going back to normal with work etc?? I was in bed far earlier and out for the count.

Well done on the overtime :T - can't wait to do mine at the weekend. Available 8-4 both days.....I must make myself do the full hours which will be 15 (with breaks), may have to chain myself to my desk :rotfl:

    Have a good dayx
