You just maintain the low carb philosophy i suppose. The appeal for me is the convience, especially the shakes for breakfast. difficult to grab a quick breakfast with two young children that isn't loaded with carbs. used to be toast or a creal bar for me. Now I have a shake. Lunch the same. I don't actually stop for lunch, I now normally eat the bar or have another shake. Better than not eating anything at all which is what I used to do.

The plan helps kick start people onto the concept I think. Once I reach my target I'll still take the shake for breakfast, it's yummy! ;)

Hard boiled eggs and precooked sausages take less time to grab than toast or cereal ;)

    but good luck!

cold veggie sausages are awful!!! and to be be honest a choice between a cold egg (which as a veggie, I try not to) or a frothy chocoaltey shake. I'm a chocoholic, there's no choice! honest they're yum!

The celebrity slim also has vitamins, fibre and all the good bacteria etc etc but each to their own. I may well join the board for hints and tips, because low carb is my new way of looking at my food. I only want to loose the half a stone I put on over christmas but will maintain on low carbs rather than half starvation because I'm too busy to eat at work. crazy but true!

Ovo-Lacto vegetarians do eat eggs as a rule. I'm not saying I am one but I just try to avoid eggs, the whole idea of an unfertalised egg, ewww, just doesn't appeal.

Have been looking at different quorn products and notice the carb content varies a lot, my husband's loving being on this diet, all meats seems to be zero carbs, whilst I'm trying to eat the lowest carb quorn products.

quorn has wheat in it, so i try to avoid it. can't always, so i stick to the burgers (which can be microwaved)

sainsburys veggie sausages are about 4g of carbs each, and the quorn ones are about the same (but far less tasty ;))

The whole concept is totally different to slim fast. Slimfast is not an accredited meal replacement programme and does not contain anything to help hunger pangs. From the ingredients all slimfast seem to contain is sugar, (i.e. carbs) which is totally opposite to the idea of celebrity slim.

Have a read on the celebrity slim webpage and see how it works. Once you get the hang of it, it makes sense. It's supposed to re educate your body to burn protein and fat instead of carbs for energy. It's also made me much more aware of carb content in all foods. I always used to check calories or fat, but infact any carbs which you don't burn turns into fat, and without checking, you consume a lot of carbs in everyday foods and they just dont get burnt as energy.
It's opened my eyes to what I eat anyway, lol;) .

Thank you for the advice, a friend at work is on about starting it so I might join him and see how I go.
  • Just looked at the irish webpage and has some great recipies for the evening meals. They were on the uk webpage but they seem to have vanished when I last looked.

Weighed myself this morning and lost 2lb. I feel much more energised. What I notice more than anything is not feeling bloated. my tummy is a lot thinner!! nice feeling! ;)
