  • i am really confused i read on here that we can have the atkins endulge bars so i stocked up on the crispy milk chocolate ones however after reading the nutritional value i noticed that per 100g carbs are 47 which seems way high so i sent a message to a celebrity slim expert my reply was that you can have atkins snack bars as long as per 100g carbs are less than 10 however none of them are or should i look at net carbs now im afraid i am having to many carbs and diet will not work please help!!!!!!! x

I belive that you need to look at the net.carbs also there are some that are not allowed if you are doing the Atkins 2 wk inducion. It does tell you on the back of them..suitable for stage 1. 2 or 3.

Tesco some times have money off them worth checking if you are in there.

I used to use them instead - but Id have half at a time (cough - what Id actually do was scoff one, and go without my snak later....) didnt make any difference to my weight loss I dont think, and even if it had slwed things down a little, the improvement in taste made it worth it !!!

Have also been looking at the Biggest Loser products.... They're exactly the same as CS (more protein than sugar) but a heck of a lot cheaper!! Asda have them cheap at the mo.

I'm having porridge for brekkie these days, the shakes are 28g carbs which sugars 25.1g  Porridge 50g serving made with water is 30g carbs 5g sugars..... Then having a homemade l/c choc nut muffin about 12pm, a bar/shake for lunch 230ish then nuts/fruit or a snack bar about 5pm, dinner at 730...

I havent weighed lately as I have a really bad 3-4 weeks and have definatley put on but am trying very hard...:A

    Hi everyone

I have been reading this thread for a bit a thought i'd give the diet a try after loosing a lot on SW but wanting to get rid of the last 1.5 stone on something different.

I am however slightly confused over a couple of things. If I have celery as a snack how many pieces should I have? If I have it with peanut butter and combine snacks does that mean I can't have a second snack in the afternoon?

Also, how much water should you mix with the soups is this also 250ml same as the shakes?

and Finally is there restrictions on the one meal a day you can have size wise? I read 250 grams of uncooked meat and the rest of your plates should be 2/3rd veg/salad. is that ok??

Thanks to any one who can answer my questions. I hope to loose some weight but I lost some on the first day and nothing since. I worry im doing it wrong. Currently this is my 4th day I was hoping to have lost about 3-5 pounds this week. However, I don't have loads to loose so this maybe why its slow. :(

I'm probably going to put the cat amongst the pigeons here, but hearing about the continued use of this type of 'dieting' really depresses me. The media and marketing people have got sooooo much to answer for it's unbelievable.

In the spirit of MSE it is clearly not, this stuff can't be cheap! This is not a sustainable or healthy way of 'eating', you will not be receiving the correct amount of nutrients that you would get from normal, fresh food, which at the end of the day is what you should be eating, and will have to eat eventually. This stuff is processed and synthetic, not natural; processed foods and chemical intakes are the one thing we should be limiting.

How many of you know you are getting the right amount of calories? How many of you are stuck? (Probably because you are not eating enough.) I hope to god none of you have been on this long-term!!

Please really think long and hard before you spend your hard earned cash on any 'diet' product, unfortunately there is NO quick fix, if you want to maintain your weight, rather than yo-yo for the rest of your life, the ONLY way to do it is with healthy eating and regular exercise.

Sorry to have to spell out the facts in cold, hard, terms; save your money and put it towards good, wholesome, tasty, food.
  • I do agree with much of what you say but I work awkward shifts and have no access to fresh food during my working day. I also have no way of transporting food so I either have CS, because I can always ask for water somewhere, or resort to fast food places which must be way more unhealthy than CS.
There is an offer on at Rowlands at the moment, buy a box of shakes for her and get one for him free.

hey ive jut purchased my starter pack today i had my baby 19 weeks ago, and getting married in 8 weeks i have 8 lb to loose to get down to pre pregnancy weight but id like to loose a stone in this 8 weeks at least, i cant loose too much as my wedding dress wont fit, ive lost 1.5 stone on slimming world diet so far but been really bad, find it hard to eat breakfast so thought this would be a good idea to stop me eating sweetss as something quick to eat.

    Hi All,
Wowies it's been ages since I've been on here. I just thought I would see how everyone was doing. Murphy, I can fully appreciate what you are saying, but I don't think (or at least hope) no one is under the impression this is a forever diet.

I like the shakes and soups purely for convinence. You are correct, it isn't cheap but as Sophie mentioned it is better than fast-food. To be honest it's the only think I take on my many long journeys as I know it wont play havoc with my tummy.

Weight-watcher Pro-Points is catching my eye at the moment, but I think the shakes/soups will still be a stand-by. Not to mention they are good for dropping a few poundsin a hurry (yes, you are likely to gain it back) for a party or do. And this is surely better than most of the fasts out there.

    Good luck all.

Thing is - its expensive to buy the boxes, but if you actually worked it out its not a whole lot more than if you were to buy lunch every day at work - and this works, and works quickly so its good for people who need to see weight coming off to keep motivated.

well done - hope you stay happy on this until you dont need it any more :)
