Well done on your weightloss, it seems you are really in the right frame of mind - which I'm not at the momentSometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -
It is horrible when you can't get into the right frame of mind, have been there many times. It is so hard to be losing little bits of weight when you need to lose lots, feels like a never ending journey and it's so easy to get disheartened.
The only way I can do it is to break it down into mini targets which are easier to reach so I can see some progress. What about breaking your target down into 5lb mini targets? Reaching 5 lb six times feels so much easier than 30lb even though it's the same amount.Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0 -
Yes, you're right. At the moment I just want to try to eat like a normal person, 3 meals a day etc. The bingeing I have done over the last week or so has scared me, I am scared that I won't be able to stop  When I took the rubbish out earlier and saw a weeks worth of food wrappers I was really ashamed
If I can get back to 'normal' eating then hopefully, in the new year, I will be able to get into the frame of mind to diet properlySometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -
Oh Shoe Gal, I'm eating like a horse in this rotten weather. Freezing cold in work and on the way to work. Had to waddle along in gutties (trainers) and a smart coat today as it was a blizzard when I left the house. NEVER don't wear heels but would have fallen on my ar5e if I had today.
Just had dinner (HM goulash) with 6 (yes 6) Yorkshire puddings and am thinking about supper. NEED to lose the belly in the New Year. Shop is full of beautiful clothes and they'll all pull over my belly at this rate. Also Mum and Dad get given a HUGE amount of chocolate and biscuits and Xmas and it's far too much so i always get left with loads.
I'm feeling happy and all about Xmas (I love it) but do feel a bit like hibernating just now. Out for tea tomorrow though and lunch on Tuesday as last days off til Xmas. Sure that will help with the belly!!!'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -
Hey Shoegal
I can totally empathise with you - have been there sooo many times. Sometimes it is like autopilot. There is an open packet of biscuits or whatever and then without realising it, I've stuffed my face with the whole lot
Try not to feel to bad about it, cos sometimes that makes it worse. You get into a cycle of feeling sh*t about yourself for eating so much and then compensate by eating more - either to cheer yourself up or because you've eaten so much already, another mince pie isn't going to make any difference.
I've got that overeating book and it is quite helpful - although not finished reading it and I need to be in the right frame of mind for heathy eating / dieting so am leaving it til 2010. I've no hope with all the yummy stuff around at the moment.
One of the good ideas the book has is to plan what you will eat and when.
Eg. tomorrow morning you decide you will eat bowl of porridge and banana at 7.30am.
You then decide you won't eat anything again until 12.30 and at that meal you will have soup and a roll and a satsuma.
Then you decide you won't eat again until 3.30pm when you will have oatcakes.
Does that explain it? Basically when you've finished eating, you decide at what time you will eat again. It shouldn't be too long - maybe 4hrs max. And you also decide what you will eat at that point. So you know in advance what you will eat.
This isn't really the same as meal planning as you do it more as you go along. So can work even if you have to go to Tesco for your lunch or whatever.
Anyway, please don't be so hard on yourself. You are not alone in binge eating occasionally and everyone else is right, the weather, time of year and all that contribute to feeling like this.
I bet you still look F Fabulous - because you ARE F Fabulous and that always shines through....alwaysI've got my own flat :j:j

Thanks makeup, that made me a bit teary, but in a good way :A
Have written my cards and done some washing, going to do a fake tan now and then an early night with a book. Think the journey to work tomorrow might be a bit 'iffy' so want to set off early
Haven't eaten anything else, so just 3 meals today. I feel a bit more in control nowSometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -

The rule of fake tan is that it makes you look thinner :j
Glad you feel more in control!

But don't beat yourself up if you slip. It's not a case of 'I'm crap' but merely 'Oops I ate a biscuit'. Men are much better at this. One of my best mates is enormously fat and says 'I know I'm fat, but that doesn't make me a bad person'. If it doesn't make you happy though then deal with it a step at a time. Hey sweetie,
sorry I missed all your self beatings over the weekend.
first of all let me say that I weighed myself this morning & have gained 2 lbs
secondly I too can easily just munch withour even realising it.
It's not the volume of food thats so bad, just the content. 12 mini caramels is bad, 12 mini caramel snack a jacks por even better grapes = not so bad.
[STRIKE]You[/STRIKE] We - cos I'm in this with you :grouphug: need to find healthier versions of what we crave.
Perhaps we should compile a list of our fave foods & then come up with healthier & less calorific alternatives ?
Hope your journey to work not so grim
take of yourself
