You are NOT a failure.
Absolutely not no way no how.
When these kind of feelings hit us single girls we must do at least one of the following.
1. Do *something* - go for a walk, clean a cupboard, have a shower, move basically.
2. Ring a friend for a chat
3. Send an e mail to say hi to an old friend
4. Post here, read some diaries with a cup of tea
5. Think of some thing you can look forward to.
6. Do some Goddessing!
7. Think seriously about why you are feeling sad and make a decision to something long term to prevent it.
(((Shoe Gal))) I wish I was nearer to come and give you a real hug, I feel like that so often these days but I am sure things will turn around I don't know why I just am

I am posting this to shame myself, I think I may be developing a serious problem with food
Yesterday I ate;
- cereal
- chicken and bacon sandwich
- bag of crisps
- 10 bread sticks
- 5 biscuits
- a pizza
- 6 mince pies
- 12 mini caramel shortbreads
I am ashamed:o
I now weigh 12 stone and my BMI is 28.8 (overweight, but only 6lbs from OBESE)
THIS HAS GOT TO STOP
Just seen your post Shoe Gal.... Is that typical of what you eat every day?! Because I have days where I eat like that (and sometimes even more!) and other days where I don't eat much at all... not intentionally, just because thats how I feel! I am just over 5'5" and weigh just over 11 1/2 stone, which is considered over weight... but then if you look at that chart, the 'normal' band is so small, I expect only about 10% of the population fit into it!
Sometimes we do eat more than we should, but so what.... and on a very basic level, maybe we are just trying to lay down more fat in the cold weather?! I know we are 'evolved' but some basic survival methods never go!
(((hugs))) to you, I've 'seen' you around and you are so supportive to others :A

So it was a bad day foodwise? Who doesn't have them?
It's winter, it's cold at the moment...most people eat more in these conditions...who feels like salad when it's freezing outside?
Don't beat yourself up about it, yesterday is gone and today is a new day. What about getting some clementines/satsuma's in? They are yummy, but take time to peel and eat plus they're full of vitamin C to help you ward off those winter bugs..

Thanks gwen :A

No, it's only been 'typical' of the last few days but I am scared that I can't stop - I'm not even hungry and am eating things like dry breadsticks as they are the only things I had in the house at the timeI know it's comfort eating but I seem to be losing control - and just need to write it down to shame myself into getting it together

Hi Shoe Gal,
What everyone else said, you're not a failure! I can eat like that sometimes (I ate a whole Stollen cake last week - over two days) and have eaten those mini caramel shortbreads - the full pack to myself. I have an OH, but we don't live together so I even feel lonely, but at the same time I love the times I can do what I want too. Couple's can feel lonely too, my friend has been having a hard time with her OH and she feels alone even with someone IYSWIM.
What are your plans for Christmas, are you seeing family or friends?0 -
Christmas Day only lasts for 24 hours, 12 of which you're asleep for, at least 10 of which you're not sober for (thank god) and the remaining two you're hoping to god that your parents don't say something ridiculously embarrassing. Last year my step mother took it upon herself to announce that she hadn't had too much to drink and proved this by stating, in her best imitation of the Queen, "I am not a pheasant phuqer", that incidently was at 6pm shortly before the informal dinner party chat on vibrators (initiated by the not too sober granny) at which her 80 odd year old mother had a coughing fit and need a lie down.
I would far rather be at home vegged out in front of the telly with a giant box of chocolates and a bottle of plonk watcing trashy tv in my PJs as opposed to pretending to be delighted with the handknitted jumper with my initials on and prancing reindeer presented by some relative that the DDs don't recognise.
Christmas surrounded by your loved ones is never ever as good as its cracked up to be.
So what if you've had a couple of blow out days. It didn't sound that horriffic to me. Venture forth into the big white world and make a snowman or just shuffle along in the snow. You'll soon burn off the extra calories having a bit of fun and attempting to keep warm.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Thanks Swinstie and Moo, for your kind words :A
Day went a bit pear shaped  I nipped to town to get a pressie for a friend, before going to see her - except the weather was awful causing traffic jams. Managed to get the pressie but was to late to go over, and weather was bad too so didn't want to risk it. Ended up back at my Mum's for my tea
Today I have eaten;- cereal
- salad sandwich
- roast chicken dinner
- Christmas pud and custard
Going to write my cards and wrap pressies tonight - then do a day-by-day list for this week so I am ready for the family party I am having here on Christmas Eve
Thanks to everybody for your kindness and support :ASometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -
Shoe Gal, that's not a greedy person's eating, that's a normal person's eating. Can't see anything wrong with it and am jealous of the roast dinner:D
You and I are at very similar weights with the same target, so we can support each other through it, I have had many a binge and felt awful and hated myself afterwards, it's so easy to feel unhappy and use food to feel better. We will do this:j Our targets are reasonable and achievable and we can do it.Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0
