Hey Shoegal, totally give yourself a break with the scales. If your office is anything like ours, it turns into a fliipping chocolate factory with boxes of Quality Street everywhere you turn (not that I'm complaining but on Wednesday I didn't eat my packed lunch as I'd stuffed my face with mini-cornish pasties, mini-scotch eggs and lots and lots of quality street that were left over from a festive meeting )
Ziggles, your plans sound ace. What a great idea. Are you going to take a stack of books and DVDs and hopefully lots of yummy food and drink?? You will be so chilled and relaxed it won't be true. And from picking up bits and pieces you've said on here about your family sounds like a terrific plan. There is nothing like an unthinking word from a family member ruin the big day (says she remembering the Christmas when I was called a big pig by my mother for eating a chocolate off the tree and then overheard her telling my younger sister that I was jealous of her getting married seeing as I was over-the-hill myself.......)I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills
And feed my interiors addiction0 -
Thanks makeup - that totally decribes my office at the moment

Remember, whatever the impression they are outwardly giving, a lot of the couples you see putting on a united happy front will secretly be seething about crap presents, having to visit in laws, cooking for 20, etc.
And they are jealous of us:jPay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0 -

hey hun sorry I have been MIA lately, I hope you are ok, will catch up with your diary shortly.
I know what you mean about plans for next year I keep thinking of things that I would like to achieve or set into action next year, but most are very similar to last year?! need to address this as dont want to be doing the same at the end of next year.

That's what it's all about for me at the moment! I am feeling pretty down as I don't feel I have achieved my aims this year so there is no point in making the same resolutions over again without a proper plan of how to actually succeedSometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -
Baby steps then love, I am not making any big plans as 2009 went to pot! But I will be saving pennies at least.
Xmas is crappy for me too cos was always spent with his family until this year, tbh unless there are kids around its pretty boring anyway even on the good years.
Roll on New Year!!!!
I luvs ya honey! Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
Hey sweetie,

It is so hard to keep on track, but I'm sure you have changed a lot of things since last year without even realising it. Not adding huge amounts to your debts being one of them hun.
Well what I think we need to do is keep eachother going and motivated and give eachother support and smiles when we need it.
I'm sure 2010 will be our year to get our lives sorted. I'm even going to start a new diary to get rid of the old me and start on the new me.

TBH Shoe Gal you look like you've done pretty well to me! Think it's too easy to be hard on ourselves instead of celebrating what we have achieved. Make that plan for next year and go for it. Onwards and upwards and if at first you don't succeed and all that.
Also babe being in a couple wouldn't automatically make Xmas better. My view is different because I never expect to be with someone so whatever I do is all about me. I think that if you basically say to yourself 'I'm single' and then base your choices around what makes you happy rather than looking at other people and thinking that they have the perfect life then you'll be much more content. I'm not saying this to offend you, I think you sound lovely but if there's no man, there's no man you just have to do your own bit XX'The road to a friends house is never long'0
