Debt Relief Orders (DRO) - Information & help thread

The fee is paid to the insolvency service through the Post Office or Payzone by the debtor. The barcode used for this is supplied to the debtor by the intermediary. The intermediary does not handle the fee and does not receive any of it.
I was merely trying to point to out that any intermediary does not charge anything in relation to a DRO apart from the £90 fee to the IS.
A previous poster was trying to imply that intermediaries other than the debt charities would charge for their services. This is infact incorrect.I used to be Snow White, but I drifted.Mae West

I believe intermediaries take around £10 of the £90 fee.
I think DD has mentioned this in the past.

Hiya, not a bankruptcy question as such but my friend has got a copy of his credit report from Experian. He's had someone knocking on the door and presumed it was a bailiff because of a 1k debt he had with HSBC bank years ago (ongoing argument about charges). So he got a copy of his credit report to check. This bank debt isn't on his credit report. He thought the debt was over 6 years and therefore uncollectable. If it isn't on his credit report does that mean that the debt is in fact over 6 years and has been removed???
Also, it was a free report. Not one you pay for. Is this important? Does it make a difference with the amount of information you get regarding defaults?
The only default on there is from Aktiva bank which he doesn't have any clue about and is less than £300.
Many thanks in advance.
Can anyone help me please? Am I in the wrong area? If so... can you point me in the right direction please?
Many thanks.0 -

Through B&E, they process you application over the phone, either post or email you a barcode to pay your £90 fee, and then send over application to IS after payment of fee.
You are looking about 2 days from start of application to decision.
Just wondered whether the 2 days was from the very start, meaning when you've contacted them or from when the application form has been completed and submitted?
I'm in the process of applying for a DRO with the help of CCCS, not completed the form, I've just sent them info of my income and debts but have been told they are in high demand so could be several weeks before completed.0 -

I wish that were true. I'm an intermediary and I've done loads of them! That would act as an incentive.
I think that £10 per application may go to the Money Advice Trust who are developing various training and qualifications for money advice. I remember that being mentioned at the outset.0 -
