Let your financial statement do the talking. Once they have received it then they have all the information they need.
From then on, DONT speak to them on the phone, ever, and read their letters and then file them away. The only thing you are to take notice of is court forms. If you get any, reply with the same offer of payment, by recorded delivery within 14 days. You might also want to get advice at that point.
If the debt gets passed to someone else, send them the same financial statement and then as above.
Good luck
DD

Hi,
It doesn't matter whether your employed or self employed, but at the time of applying and for 1 year afterwards you must not have more than £300 worth of assets or more than £50 pm surplus income.

Has anyone had experience/knowledge of avoiding possession action on local authority or registered social landlord rental properties through the arrears being written off with a DRO?0

Hi,
If you already have a suspended possession order or a written agreement to repay the arrears before your DRO ( or BR) then this payment can continue to avoid being evicted. This is for any type of tenancy.
Of course if you no longer live there or are leaving soon then there is no reason to pay anything.

Rent arrears (for a currently occupied property) are not discharged by bankruptcy. This was decided by the case of Harlow v Hall

The DRO guidance notes make it clear that this also applies in DROs.0 -
i have finally sent off my DRO forms, after a few weeks of fluffying about...
I have had a court date for non payment of council tax - although i have now sorted this out with a lovly lady at the council and the court have cancelled.
How long will i need to wait before i find out if my dro is accepted?
I just want to start the new year being able to answer the door/phone again .

Hi and thanks.
This DRO guidance says rent is a qualifying debt?

Yes, rent arrears must be put in the application and is not an 'excluded' debt0
