I'm 6 months into my DRO and one of my creditors has contacted me out of the blue asking for an update, bit confused i explained im on a DRO for 12 months and there is no update. They dont seem to understand anything im telling them and theyre now asking to speak to my "case worker" I can't even remember who that is, i done it through the CCSS - should i just give them the number for the CCCS and give them my client number? or tell them to b*gger off!!!0

Tell them to contact the IS if they want any info.0 -
Had a letter this morning from 'The Lewis Group LTD' ( debt collectors? ) asking me to ring them - should I ignore it since all my debts are included on my DRO?0

If you are sure they are included firstly don't worry. I'd leave it for now and ignore it. Are you a way into the DRO?. It maybe that one dept has not notified the other hence the letter. If you get repeated contact from them, gather your DRO number, ring them, be firm and tell them that you are under a DRO and give them your DRO number saying that if they need anymore info to contact the IS.
Or failing that you could just tell them to !!!! off...lol0 -

Thus proving what we've long said - that creditors are clueless when it comes to debt advice

I'd incline to the latter. It's not CCCS's job to educate them.0 -
wba31 - many thanks for the swift reply.
I now have copies printed with accompanying letter attached - hopefully that puts paid to any more threatening contact from them.
10 more months to go!
Well, it would appear AIC (on behalf of Barclaycard) got the message re: my having a DRO but Barclaycard themselves (who took the arrears on from Egg and whom I also wrote to) have decided to pass on the 'debt' to Wescot Credit Services, i.e. ignored my letter!
Another letter is on it's way to both!0 -

Of course they can contact you, but i don't think they would unless they had reason to. There was no contact when i was under a DRO.
Remember though that if everything about your DRO is above board and your circumstances do not change in such a way that you would no longer be eligable for a DRO, then you have nothing to worry about if they do contact you.0 -
I haven't yet been contacted either! My DRO although took a long time to get to the the applying stage, was a very simple case and there has certainly been no changes to my circumstances...not for the better financially anyway! Can't wait for it to be over officially though!:jEngaged 25/12/11 :j
