I got the DRO info and forms for my OH during the week and I posted off the application for free credit report today. Also wrote to each of his 4 creditors for up-to-date balances, especially as two of them have just been passed to collection agents, one of which actually sold on - poor DCA have bought this debt and will not see more that a month or so of £5 payments before his DRO goes through, hopefully anyway

Will let you know how things go

hi all, im a bit confused!

I had my final meeting regarding my dro application on friday at the CAB, my case worker needs to pass everything on to her supervisor and he/she will be doing the application on tuesday! She reckons ill get the letter with bar code on wednesday, pay it wednesday and the approval should be done by thursday.

Now ive been reading this thread backwards lmao ive gone back over every page and made it to page 89, where im reading that you have to have between £1-£50 disposable...... i dont know how correct or incorrect that is, as my case worker told me that there will be no issue with my application and she can say that from the information she has for the application meets all the criteria... but.... my disposable income is -£47!! So im presuming things have changed?

no nothing has changed caz..the OR doesnt like minus disposable income so im presuming that iff ur adviser has said every-thing is ok then he/she will just reduce ur expenditure accordingly..im not 100% about this but no doubt one of the experts will be on later to explain it in more detail..

I agree that would probably happen, but if your I/E form is correct and is an accurate guide of your current living costs, i am really suprised that the fact you are living with a negative balance did not ring alarm bells with your advisor.

If it's true and you are in a negative balance each month, the you should seek further advice on reducing your outgoings.

They didn't by chance include your debts did they?.

well i spoke to my case worker today, when she was doing the application before passing it to her supervisor and she said no its fine as it represents exactly how my situation is and that this isn't an issue! The qualifying factors of the dro only mention that your disposable income is less than £50, it doesn't anywhere mention anywhere that it needs to be more than a certain figure, she assured me that there is no issue with my I&E and not to worry, as she knows im a worrier!

I always thought it was between £1 and £50 otherwise you would claim for bankrupcy if it was a negative balance. However doing a quick search you are right when you say about it being less then £50, i can't see anywhere it mentioning it being between £1 and £50.

That's what i thought! And it was never mentioned in previous meetings when my I&E was at a minus, i was told that the DRO was my best option considering my circumstances!

Will soon find out tho eh! The application will be done tomorrow, and she said ill get the paper with the barcode on thursday, she said all i need to do then is pay the £90 at the post office, then its all done and then a waiting game. She said ill get contacted by someone at the IS? I thought it was just a case of looking for my name on the IS register! lol
