Yeah - just want to remind people it is Ok to ask a question about DROs here.

If necessary we'll step over anyone who is still sleeping on the floor, and speak quietly...

So, I'm currently in progress with entering a DRO, however im not sure what to do with my mobile contract.

I don't wish to continue with this contract as its costing too much, can I include this in my DRO?

If so how do i go about it? Not pay and ask for a final bill then add that sum to my DRO or do i just not pay and go off whats listed on my credit report currently?

I know I could ask the person dealing with my DRO but its Sunday and i was hoping for a quick answer from here if anyone has dealt with this before, if not i can call the CAB tomorrow.

    Thank You :)

You can include it :) Can you ring the company and ask how much you'll owe if you stop paying - that will give you the most accurate figure.

  • Hello...If I'm in the wrong place - sorry..have many questions about D.R.O.s as I have just applied through C.C.C.S. ...does anyone know how long it'll take to be sorted out? Also...I think I may not qualify as I spend £60.00 a week on therapy (for depression)...but don't have any receipts for this and the therapist isn't keen on supplying any as this affects confidentiality..it's all confusing...also...my debts are a few hundred under 15,000...but this goes up and down as the interest is added and I pay off what I can (amazing what people will buy form ebay)...any help much appreciated as I am worried sick with all this...x

hi, not sure about the therapy but you must make sure that your debts are not over £15,000 or you wont be able to have a dro.. not sure how long it will take as it varies....i went with the cab and it only took 2 wks but some on here have waited 7 wks....

hi jay..i think its quite alright to use the same system to clean up your credit file as BR, after all we still on the insolvency site as are those who are BR, and it will still be on our credit file for 6 years....

Hello, I'm considering applying for a DRO.
Part of the reason we are in difficulty is because the car my partner used for some part time work he had broke down so badly it could not be repaired and had to be scrapped. The scrap removal people paid us £60 for car to take it away. I'm concerned now that if the DRO people check with the DVLA they will see that we recently had a car that they will think it was a working car we sold it for less then it was worth or what ever that clause is about getting rid of assets. The thing really was good for nothing but scrap, the garage wanted over £200 to repair it and they weren't even 100% sure that would fix it! Think the engine just died in the end and I was lucky to find some one who would take it off us for anything at all!. Do you think this will affect my application? It says the company's name that took it on the V5 if that helps?
    Thanks in advance :)

hi there...i dont think the or will be interested in £60...its only iff you have 1 asset that is worth over £300....just show the v5 to your adviser iff you are worried and iff he/she wants to check with the company they can....dont worry it will be fine...:)

It's not what was received that could cause any problems, it's the value of the car in the first place, and if this £60 received was for selling the vehicle for less that it's true value. If the vehicle was only really worth £60ish to anyone in it's state, then fine, if it was a 2004 Ford Focus (stab in the dark) that having been repaired may be worth £1500, then there may be an issue.

What was the car? (make model and year of registration). with that info i can advise whether i think it is all ok and nothing to worry about, or something to act on caution with
