You will have to wait for Fat or one of the others to come along, but as i have said i reckon they won't accept your high food prices because you son plays ruby and you spend a fortune on supplements. i can see the holiday one getting flagged up too as they say no money for debts, no money for holidays etc. what is the emergency fund for..? at £30 a month that would seem high. What's the "other insurance" for..?
This is only my opinion, but i can see places where you could make significant savings leaving you way above the £50 a month threshold. But i am sure someone will come along and prove me wrong...lol0 -
hi broken spirit, as orville has said some things on your soa seem a bit high and i doubt whether you would be allowed to put holiday fund down or £30 emergency fund...iff u are on benefits you dont need pet insurance either as the pdsa give treatment for people on benefits....you say your son is 17, couldnt he get a part time job and that would save you another £20 spending money, plus he could then probably help pay 2wards his food supplements...i would hate for you to be turned down so u will have to juggle a bit more...you could add more on for travel...i also put £20 on my soa but my adviser said it was not enough...she said i have to account for taxi's to bring my shopping home...good luck with it xx0

I'll try do another one, but I can't put less than I actually spend as otherwise there's no point me going through the whole process, lol. I've been unable to meet my DMP paynents, which I've been paying for a year. But my circumstances have changed, I've split from my partner & now I'm totally reliant on benefits. I'd always paid my debts before they were due, but I was taken ill at work & unfortunately I'll never work again. I hate been in this position & feel utterly despondent at the moment.
I've looked through alot of the SOA's posted on here as to try & find what seemed to be an average cost for ie. haircuts a mth (I'm a qualified hairdresser, so until becomong ill never paid for my hair or my sons) So I was hoping to take advise from other members so I can try work out if DRO is my right path.
What is an acceptable emergency fund?
The other ins is for my white goods, so as I don't have to find the cash to replace them should they breakdown.
If you're willing to point me in the right direction, I'd be happy tp be advised. Because tbh, I'm lost.I am a Leo...& as such I will defend my "pride" ferociously....you have been warned!0 -
well for a start you cant put your arrears on your soa because they have to be included in the dro and i dont think they will allow £350 for groceries either...some-one may come along and say that im wrong but looking at the savings you could make i dont think you would fall into the £50 surplus0

Thanks for your advise. Unfortunately I can't get to the PDSA, I'm unable to make the journey myself & tbh I've no one who would make the 55m round trip for me. I pay that cash directly to my local vets & it includes all boosters & worming treatments for my dog & cat. It's been a godsend that I did take up this option as my cat has now been diagnosed with kidney failure & my poor old dog has prostate cancer. I can't imagine where I'd have been without it!
My sons trying very hard to get a part time job, there's nowhere in our village with any Saturday jobs, but he is trying very hard to find something in our local area.
I am totally reliant on taxis, so you're probably right, but as I said previously I really have no clue to my average costs as it does vary. Someone else told me I had them too high at £61.00 so I just put my sons bus fares down. I'm in a real mess!

This is what I'm trying to work out. I may just need to reduce my DMP, but thought I'd ask opinions.I am a Leo...& as such I will defend my "pride" ferociously....you have been warned!0 -
i dont think that the fares are too high, iff you are unwell they wont expect you to take a bus every where...this is what i put on my soa but bear in mind i live alone...40 gas 30 electric 24 water 150 food and cleaning ect 42 tv internet and phone 10 mobile 12 tv licence 30 travel 10 life insurance 8 haircut...i didnt put anything down for birthdays oremergencys as i would have been in deficit...mine totaled 356 and i only get 364 obviously there are 2 of you and i would'nt put your son down as a child....he sounds like a big strapping lad to me...hope this helps a little xx0

Thankyou so much :T I can't travel via bus on my own, so if I use a bus service I have to pay for my companion. So I can say for sure I take 2 taxi services a month to the supermarket, that's a £10.00 round trip!! But I was told to look at my travel costs. It's a tricky one as it varies from month to month as to how many times I have to visit the hospital, which I am reliant on taxis & that's a 30m round trip.
I had been unsure as to which category my son fell in. You are absolutely right, he's huge!!! 16st of muscle & 6ft 3". He eats like a horse, but fortuanately I don't, lol.
I can't thank you enough for your kind words of advice, you've made me feel quite a bit better :j Wish I could. lol : ) xxI am a Leo...& as such I will defend my "pride" ferociously....you have been warned!0 -
u'll get ther broken spirit dont give up...im sure if u take proof of your hospital visits ie appointment card you will be able to bump up your fares ...i cant b'lieve you put that 16 stone lad of yours down as a child lol...i think it would b a good idea to speak to one of the councilers either at the CAB or CCCS ,im certain that they will be able to help you even iff its only lowering your DMP, BUT YOU MUST TELL THEM, dont just sit worrying by yourself, you will make yourself even more ill.;);)0
