I am going through the process and gosh I feel better. After years of chasing my tail to survive I see light at the end of the tunnel.
This is going to be a new start.
I only pay cash now, have a budget and life seems lighter and sweeter.
I know a lot of people are hard up and it may get worse but people like me that have been struggling are old war horses of living on the line and this just frees the reins for worry. Thank you.:j
Ah..time for a cuppa...0 -

I hope I feel that way soon, I have a week until my appointment to submit my application and its starting to feel like a very long week, I'm constantly thinking about what could go wrong and worrying about the whole thing
I am being bombarded with phone calls, emails, letters... it's miserable!

I included an overdraft with Nationwide in my DRO which was granted last October. They persist on ringing me and writing to me saying I must pay blah blah blah. I told them I was in a DRO and sent them a letter with a print out of my entry in the Insolvency Register. Now they have a passed the debt onto a debt collection company called Fredericksons International and they're ringing too.
What can I do? My discharge is in one month or so and I just want them to go away.
Send another copy of your DRO approval to Fredricksens, and try contacting the DRO Unit to resend a notification0 -
Hi all,
A bit of advice need please! I live with my partner and decided that after my maternity leave ended I would stay at home and look after our little one. This was a few months back and we are now struggling to live. The main reason is my debts. I owe around 6500 with monthly repayments for these around £350 a month! I feel so bad as it is all my fault that we are in this situation. So, as I dont earn anything I just recieve child benefit at £53 every 4 weeks would I be eligible for a DRO? The debts are all in my name. My partner does work (about 800 a month) and we recieve tax credits about £116 a week.
Any advice needed, also when filling in the cccs debt remedy do I put in any of my partners details?
Thanks so much
You should be able to complete Debt remedy with just your details, but including your partner's income and expenditure will help you budget for your whole house. If your overall surplus is over £50, it may be worth discussing the budget with a CCCS advisor, you may be being prudish with your expenditure on food and clothing for the children etc.0 -
thank you for your advice everyone, I've contacted Frederickson's and confirmed the DRO with them, hopefully this shall resolve it all.:)DRO granted 17/10/20090
