    I think over the fireplace is a bit too high, you may suffer neck pains. I think you are hiding the cables behind the decorations, in my case these will be trunked and not seen.

    The cables are not behind the decs:rolleyes:
    They are in the wall, like I said. They are a lot LESS seen than trunking whicj IMHO won't look very smart at all.
    The decs are only there a couple of weeks, that TV has had the cables in the wall since it was fitted there.

    Large screen (or in fact any) TV's should be situated so that the centre of the screen is at eye level.
    You should not have it so that you are looking up.

    Completely true. The same is also true of the av speaker setup (Should there be one)
