Hello JamieDodger ....... don't mind if I tag along for the ride do you?
Just wanted to offer my support to a fellow 'southerner'
We're HA too and since moving here (Oct 07) we've managed to decorate 3 bedrooms and dig up the garden for veggies lol. HAs must be on a roll round here ..... we've had a new kitchen, new bathroom and completely new heating system (including boiler and tank !) hence the reason for only getting the bedrooms done ...... been living in a complete mess for the last year while they've done all the work  ! Mustn't grumble though ..... it's all good :T .
So, now they've finished, it's all hands on deck again starting with the spare room this/next month and then saving up to do the living room (I need a new sofa and furniture so gonna be expensive ! ) - hence the reason for us doing the £4K challenge ..... we want to be able to pay for everything cash .. all being well we should have enough money by June (if my plan goes according to plan ! lol)We then have the rest of the year to save up to do the rest of the house (carpets all need replacing too so we're completely revamping).
Anyway, I ramble lots (as you will find out) ..... all the very best for 2009 JamieDodger and I look forward to hearing all about your journey

Thank you for the welcome JD
Our HA is another one but they too have spent a small fortune this year. I think it's all to do with this 'better homes' thing by 2010. Mind you, our kitchen, bathroom and heating system were all in bad repair .... the surveyor who came laughed at the mis-match of radiators we had all throughout the house  :rotfl:
Just wondering what my rent increase in April will be now we have all the mod cons ! lol :jWeight loss to date 1st 11.5lb :j0 -
Hello there Jamie,
Happy new year to you. Hope 2009 is alot better for you.
I remember I used to read your post on DD&D's thread over on OS, and you were one of the ones who inspired me to cook from scratch. I think you should post your recipes on here if your aloud.
I remember the pic you took for your dresser (at least Im sure it was you).
Anyway, all the best to you and your little ones.

Pap - Glad to see you are back on the wagon;)
Jtb - my rent went up from this week by £2 per week so not too bad!
Spent £9.98 on easter craft stuff from ebay today, but it is out of 2008 leftover money as I had made a bit of a mistake and had some money left unaccounted for:T So today I am counting as a NSD, direct debits not included or money that should have been spent last year:D
That makes it NSD number 2 out of 2!:j
Hopefully wont need to buy anything now until monday:T
Off to bed in a mo as am shattered and have a busy 'back to school on monday' weekend planned:DNovember NSD's - 70 -

welcome, thanks for the comment hunni! You have a good memory:DNovember NSD's - 70 -
morning all!
I guess my sleep pattern is back on track as I woke up at my usual 5.45am this morning! Not too bothered as I had a good nights sleep!
Have a loaf in the BM already which will be ready in plenty of time for lunch today!
Will be ironing this morning and also taking the meter readings to put into i-measure. I expect to see an increase this week as we were not here for one day and night over xmas! Next week when the kids are all back at school will see a true picture of my winter usage as all manner of electrical appliances will not be on for hours during the day:T
I need to send one of the kids down the shop this morning to pick up The Times, so unfortunately today wont be a NSD as I need the voucher in it for the dine out for £5!!:D
Not sure whether to include this as part of entertainment or contingency:D
Going to have a look on ebay today to find some easter die cuts for the tags for my easter prezzies:) Either that or an easter punch. Also need some yellow craft ribbon.
Cant wait for my chocolate mould to arrive, have a feeling I will be 'practicing' with that next week;)
Simple dinner tonight as just have the two younger ones here, will dig deep in the freezer, im sure I have some fish fingers in there somewhere:DNovember NSD's - 70
