Hi JD/everyone !
Hope all is well ...... JD your house looks great ! Wish I had good DIY skills but unfortunately i'm not very good so tend to leave it to DH to do.
My 2 younger ones off school today too (baker day) but eldest has to go much to her dismay !
DH's 40th tomorrow  - we're both off for the day so going out to get a new bed (JD, is that right that Ikea don't do king size beds????) - otherwise there's not much point us going there as we've got our hearts set on a biggie
. Going out for a meal tomorrow night too (with my Mr T clubcard vouchers
). Looking forward to giving DH his pressie, i'll confess what I got on here once he's opened it (in case he reads!)
Think i'm going to do what you and donner are doing and decide on a cut off date for the heating. I've already noticed a difference now the weather is milder so lets just hope we don't have another cold snap  .
Must quickly apologise for not popping on here lately, we've been busy the last week or so getting the allotment dug ready for planting (finished it yesterday :T ).
Right, going to hang some washing out (not sure what weather is like as curtains still closed here :rotfl: ). Have a great day all ........ JD enjoy your cuppa with your friend xx:jWeight loss to date 1st 11.5lb :j0 -
Jamie I just saw your pics! Oh my word your house is wonderful! It makes mine feel overfull and cluttered. It must be lovely living in those surroundings. Well done to you! Do you know, mine was tidy and minimal once and then I got a man....
My bedroom used to have flowers and candles and muslin curtains. Now it has bits of PC everywhere and large gadgets down his side of the bed. Muslin curtains got binned and bed was moved from under the window so I no longer get to look at the moon.
Ah well ..... life improved in other ways (goes off to try to remember what ways ....)Wendy x0 -
Hi JD haven't spoken to you for ages - your house is looking really lovely, I'm jealous of your kitchen it is gorgeous - mine looks like a pigsty - I have one of those hubby's who is always promising to do things - then when I get fed up and start doing it myself, he gets the hump!
Maybe I should declutter and throw him out with the rubbish lol.
I don't kow where you find the energy to do all that you do - I would be shattered after a couple of hours.0 -
JD you have done a great job with your decorating. Did your Ds's wardrobe come from Ikea as well?Pad, started 28.11.08 running total £3674.91:T

How are you? Havent seen you about in a long time!!!:D
I'm fine thanks JD - still keep up with your thread regularly but just don't post much!!
Going through a bit of a stressful time with DH's hours being reduced, but not letting it get us down - we're lucky that we have options which, although not ideal, will see us through the rough patch!! We're much luckier than some!!
Still amazed that you manage to get so much done.......puts me to shame!!:o20p Saver Club #33 60p/£100

Jtb - Not sure about Ikea beds....I have lent all my catalogues out at the moment so I cant check....have you looked online?? Allotment sounds like its really coming along now:D I hope your hubby has a wonderful birthday!!!:)
Cat - Thanks for your comments on the pics:) Believe me, with 4 kids I work hard to keep the clutter demon at bay and dont always win!!! I like my room to be as clutter free as possible and as I dont own a lot of personal stuff I find that fairly easy. I bought two huge red patterened boxes for the top of my wardrobe and I keep all my cds and dvds in one and spare birthday cards, xmas cards, wrapping paper etc in the other. I find that they have been a huge help in keeping things tidy. Also I dont have a man so no pc bits by the side of the bed for me:eek:
Natters - I will let you in on a secret hun, I have a nap most lunchtimes, for about an hour:D This is more difficult to achieve in school holidays but with bribery usually I can persuade the kids to be fairly quiet for half an hour:D I am also a typical aries so will persue the things I want to do with determination until conquered!!:D However, things I dont like to do, well lets just say I make procrastination an art form (just ask my accountant):D:cool:
Jenchin - Yes the wardrobe came from Ikea and cost £49.90 I think. Easy to put together and really good value! I will be getting the same wardrobe for dd room and possibly the boys room too, I like the lower shelf in the wardrobe, as it has plenty of space to fit two big trofast boxes, and as space is at a minimum in the boys room, I am going to use those boxes to hold their pants socks etc instead of a chest of drawers.
Brummiebabe - sorry to hear about you DH hours being reduced. I hope you are coping ok. Lets hope this horrible rough patch doesnt last too long and things pick up for everyone as soon as possible!
Off into chichester with a friend today then home for school run, and then up to my mums as its her birthday:) Wont get much done around the house today, but really looking forward to catching up with friend!
Better go make lunchboxes, have hair to wash too......November NSD's - 70 -
Thanks Jamie, that would look great in the daughters room, which is next to be attacked, its a small box room with the stair well in. We are going to take down her cabin bed we built over the stairs and build a lower bed. I'm sure she will go through the ceiling one of these days:rotfl:Pad, started 28.11.08 running total £3674.91:T

Morning all:)
Had a lovely day out with friend yesterday, thoroughly brilliant girly shopping trip:D
Bought a much needed new pair of jeans and a couple of tops. Picked up some lovely earrings for my mums birthday too. Had lunch at pizza hut, buffet lunch on bogof as my friend works for tesco and the local pizza hut offers 241 on all tesco/sainsbury staff on Monday and Tuesday if having the buffet:) So we both ate (ourselves silly) for £6!!!!! Bargain!!
When the kids got back, took them up my mums to see her and she had cooked a lovely tea for them:) I think my parents had a headache when we left as they not used to kids nowadays and my four are an assault on the ears if you are not used to them:D
Hmm, plans for today.....a lot of housework, didnt get any done yesterday and dont like to get behind!!! A small food shop and perhaps a bit of painting.
Want to go to halfords this week, I need a bulb for my foglight and also want to have a look at the bikes as I would like to get DD one for her birthday. Spoke to my mum and she says she will get her a helmet and a bell.
Ive been following the meter readings for the last four days and I have to say what a difference I noticed yesterday with no one being here during the day! I will be at home most of today, so will be interesting to see how much it reads tomorrow, but I am sure the big drop was due to the kids not being on laptops/ds/tv etc.
Better get on lunchboxes to make and another cuppa beckons.....November NSD's - 70 -
It seems to be my month for bargains!!
Went to halfords yesterday to look at bikes for dd, there was a really nice one in there and if I paid before monday it came with a free helmet, so I went to pay and the guy said there was a mistake with the ticket, Bike should have been £35 MORE than priced up at so had to let me pay ticket price for it:D
Also picked up a bilb for my foglight, ouch! £6!!!
Went to tescos, filled up with petrol, got 5p a litre off and double points!! Stocked up with food for the week, hopefully I wont have to buy anything until next week now:)
Meter readings showed a slight increase yesterday as I was in most of the day, but not a huge amount, so I guess having the kids back at school is cheaper:D
Plans for today....
- continue plugging away at my flylady list, still a bit behind from tuesday, but not by a lot as got quite a bit done yesterday:)
- stay in and not spend any money:D Hoping to make today my first nsd of february!!November NSD's - 70 -
